What channel is Seahawks vs. Broncos on today in Canada? Schedule, time for NFL Week 1 'Monday Night Football' game – Sporting News

  • September 12, 2022

The first “Monday Night Football” contest of the 2022 NFL season is tonight and it starts with some fireworks, as the Broncos and Russell Wilson face off against his former team in the Seahawks.
Denver made arguably the biggest splash of the offseason, trading for Wilson in exchange for a Seattle package that consisted of Drew Lock, Noah Fant and two first-round picks. It gives the Broncos the franchise QB they have been looking for since Peyton Manning retired in 2015.
The Broncos are looking to improve after a 7-10 season in 2021. With the AFC West shaping up to be the toughest division this year, the move to get Wilson gives the Broncos a chance to battle with the Chiefs, Chargers and Raiders for the division title.
On the other side is the Seahawks, who have gone from a stretch of being perennial Super Bowl contenders to now likely being at the bottom of the NFC. Geno Smith won the starting job over Lock in camp and will be the QB facing off against Wilson on Monday night. The Seahawks missed the postseason last year for the first time since 2017.
