What channel is Ohio State vs. Penn State on today? Time, TV schedule for Week 9 college football game – Sporting News

  • October 29, 2022

After righting the ship against Minnesota in Week 8 following a drubbing at the hands of Michigan two weeks ago, Penn State’s life doesn’t get any easier. On Saturday, the Nittany Lions go up against the similarly vaunted Ohio State Buckeyes in another Big Ten East showdown.
The noon game in Happy Valley will see PSU trying to beat OSU for the first time since 2016. Ohio State’s dominance in the Big Ten has been well-documented, but Penn State in particularly tends to play the Buckeyes close. Although it hasn’t been able to pull out wins recently, Saturday looks to be competitive, despite Penn State’s struggles against Michigan, a top-five team two weeks ago.
The big question for Penn State, however, lies at the most important position: Quarterback. Sean Clifford has been taken off the field in favor of Drew Allar a few times this season, and Ohio State will be looking to chase Clifford off the field again. Clifford had a solid week against Minnesota, going 23 of 31 for 295 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. He’ll try to carry that momentum into this week against a top-five scoring defense in Ohio State.
The Ohio State offense is also amongst the best in the country. It is averaging nearly 50 points per game, trailing only Tennessee in points per game, and C.J. Stroud looks like the first-round pick he’s projected to be. He’s currently locked in a race with Hendon Hooker for the Heisman this year, and that’s something the Nittany Lions will have to combat.

This game is going to be a tough one for Penn State, particularly considering their recent bout with a top-five division rival. But Penn State has played Ohio State well in the past. While the Nittany Lions haven’t won since 2016, their average margin for defeat is just seven points in that span. A loss is still a loss, but perhaps playing in Happy Valley can give the Nittany Lions the edge they need.
Here’s how you can tune in and watch the Big Ten meeting between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions.
Ohio State and Penn State will face off in Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania. The game will be broadcast on FOX, with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt calling the game with Jenny Taft on the sidelines.
