Iowa has an early shot at revenge this season, as the Hawkeyes look to avenge last year’s blowout loss in the Big Ten Championship.
Michigan embarrassed the Hawkeyes 42-3, a win that ultimately propelled them to Jim Harbaugh’s first playoff appearance since joining the Wolverines as a head coach.
This year, Michigan has looked similarly solid, going 4-0 after surviving a scare against Maryland last week. The Terrapins were an onside kick recovery away from chasing overtime against Michigan, but the Wolverines held on for the victory.
Iowa had people fitting them for their coffin after the first two weeks of the season, in which they combined for 14 points. Against South Dakota State, their only points came off two safeties and field goal in a 7-3 victory. They lost to Iowa State 10-7 the following week. The Hawkeyes, however, have scored 27 points in each of the last two weeks.
