There is not long left to go now before the summer transfer window slams shut, and up and down the country Premier League clubs will be desperately trying to add that extra bit of quality that could make all the difference to their season.
Manchester United have so far only managed to sign Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen to their ranks, but they are thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, and are also being linked with a whole host of other names.
There are also plenty of rumours over outgoings, with suggestions that Marcus Rashford could be on his way out of Old Trafford after Paris Saint-Germain reportedly expressed an interest in the England international. Whether or not they get a deal done in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
Elsewhere, Chelsea have been splashing the cash recently on the likes of Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella, and they may not be willing to stop there. Leicester defender Wesley Fofana is being touted as an option, and the Blues could intensify their interest in the near future.
And with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle all unlikely to be finished with their spending just yet, there could still be plenty of twists and turns still to come before September.
That’s all for tonight folks.
Check back in tomorrow for a brand new blog!
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Wesley Fofana but are yet to have a bid accepted by Leicester, reports in the French media claim.
The Blues are desperate to sign the France U21 international but have had a couple of offers turned down by their Premier League rivals.
That is apparently the only hurdle Chelsea still need to cross, though. French publication Footmercato claim that Fofana has agreed personal terms ahead of a possible switch.
Chelsea are reportedly set to make an £85m offer over the next few days.
Chelsea will need to fend off interest from Juventus in midfielder Jorginho if Adrien Rabiot signs for Manchester United, according to reports.
Rabiot is widely expected to join the Red Devils from the Serie A side in the coming weeks. Discussions over a transfer have been held.
And Juve could target Italy star Jorginho if they lose Rabiot. PA claim that the Italian giants have earmarked the midfielder as a potential Rabiot replacement.
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
The Red Devils are yet to replace second-choice shot-stopper Dean Henderson following his loan move to Nottingham Forest.
Tom Heaton remains the back-up to David de Gea, although United seem keen to upgrade.
TalkSPORT claim that former Crystal Palace and Reading goalkeeper McCarthy could be targeted.
There has been no official approach made by the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Barcelona head coach has conceded that ‘different things can happen’ before the end of the transfer window despite insisting that he is counting on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The former Arsenal striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Barca need to sell players to balance their finances, with midfielder Frenkie de Jong also of interest to Chelsea and Man Utd.
Xavi said: “I am counting on him. Those I am not counting on already know, they know won’t play. Everyone else is training. Between now and August 31, different things can happen. But I like Auba, he can help us. He’s humble and I’m delighted with him.
Asked about De Jong, he added: “Same as Auba, important for me. He’s in the squad and we will use him. I don’t know what will happen between now and Aug 31, but not just with Frenkie or with Auba, with almost everyone in the squad.”

Only one of Tottenham’s six summer signings could be a regular under Antonio Conte this season, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher claims.
Spurs have strengthened Conte’s squad ahead of their first Champions League campaign in three years.
Fraser Forster, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison have all been signed.
But Carragher thinks that Bissouma is the only one of them who will play regularly for the North Londoners.
“Conte can at least go into this weekend’s match knowing that his squad is in a better place now that it was in January, following the arrivals of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence,” Carragher wrote in his Daily Telegraph column.
“But I am still unsure as to how much these signings have really improved the starting lineup. Bissouma is a quality midfielder, and I expect him to be a regular starter, but aside from him we might be looking at the same starting team that we saw in the second half of last season.”
Manchester United sporting director John Murtough was seen boarding a flight after a reported ‘scheduled meeting’ with Adrien Rabiot’s mother and agent.
Veronique Rabiot looks after her son’s interests and met with Murtough on Friday, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Rabiot has been linked with the Red Devils as the Old Trafford outfit scramble to improve Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

Nottingham Forest’s relentless summer activity looks set to continue, with Steve Cooper’s 14th, 15th and 16th signings set to be confirmed in the coming days.
The Telegraph report Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis is set for a medical later today ahead of his £15m switch.
Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler completed his medical on Thursday ahead of a more from Atalanta.
And former Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate is also expected to arrive on a free transfer.
David Moyes has played down suggestions that West Ham are the unnamed London club to have offered Memphis Depay a Premier League return.
The Hammer boss has insisted they are trying ‘really hard’ to add new signings before the transfer deadline.
But he has claimed he knows little about Memphis. The Scot said: “We don’t want to fill places for the sake of doing so.

I don’t know about Memphis Depay.”Barcelona forward Memphis Depay.Erik ten Hag has confirmed Marcus Rashford will stay at Manchester United this summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Rashford was central to intensifying transfer links to PSG on Thursday evening, leading to mass uncertainty about his United future.
But Ten Hag has poured cold water over suggestions he could leave, explaining he’s a big part of his plans at Old Trafford.
He said: “He [Rashford] is really important. You have seen from the first day I am in, I’m really happy with him, and definitely don’t want to lose him. He is in our plans. He will stay at Manchester United.”
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Marcos Alonso isn’t currently training as he attempts to complete a move to Barcelona.
The Spaniard also missed Sunday’s Premier League opener against Everton as he pushes for his dream return back to Spain.
And Tuchel has explained why he won’t be available for selection against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
He told reporters: “He is not training at the moment and is trying to finalise his transfer [to Barcelona].”

Sky Sports report a Premier League club have been in contact with Barcelona over the potential signing of Memphis.
The interested club is ready to make the 28-year-old their highest-paid player if he wishes to leave Catalonia.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Memphis, with Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham also potential destinations.
Jurgen Klopp has once again poured cold water on suggestions Liverpool could sign a midfielder in the final three weeks of the summer transfer window.
Thiago’s injury has left Klopp short of depth for potentially up to six weeks, leading to suggestions he would look to the transfer market for a solution.
But the German coach has dismissed that stance and has claimed he’s happy with his squad.
He told reporters: “I’m happy with the size and quality of my squad. There are different solutions. One is the transfer market but it only makes sense if you can bring in the right player.”
Frenkie de Jong’s agent, Ali Dursan, has hinted that his client could be set to stay at Barcelona with recent social media activity.
The Dutch midfielder has taken to Instagram with an image of him wearing the Barcelona training top.
Dursan liked the post and commented fire and love heart emojis, suggesting he’s happy to see De Jong where he is.
Chelsea and Manchester United aren’t giving up their interest in the 25-year-old, but his preference has always been to remain at the Nou Camp.

Erik ten Hag’s desire to sign Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech was dismissed by Manchester United.
The MEN report Ten Hag wanted to reunite with his former Ajax star at Old Trafford, with Chelsea willing to offload him.
But despite handing the Dutchman control over signings so far this summer, United were unable to accept a move.
It’s also claimed that the Red Devils failed with an 11th-hour pursuit of Timo Werner before he returned to RB Leipzig in a £20m deal.Erik ten Hag and Hakim Ziyech at Ajax.Manchester United are in talks with Barcelona over signing Sergino Dest this summer, and are willing to include Diogo Dalot in a swap deal.
Sport claim Barca want £17m to part ways with the 21-year-old, but United would be open to ship Dalot to Spain to sweeten the deal.
Erik ten Hag coached Dest at Ajax and is keen to continue the trend of signing players he trusts in his first transfer window as manager.
Newcastle United have held talks with Chelsea to scope out the possibility of signing two players on loan this summer.
The Magpies want to recruit Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi for the 2022/23 campaign after neither player started the league opener at Everton last weekend, i News report.
Armando Broja is also on Eddie Howe’s radar but is likely to remain at St. James’ Park.
Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee with Watford for the signing of Emmanuel Dennis.
The Athletic report Forest will pay in the region of £20m to sign Dennis, with final negotiations ongoing.
Personal terms aren’t expected to be an issue and the 24-year-old will join Remo Freuler as Steve Cooper’s 14th and 15th signings of the window.
Chelsea’s new owners could back Thomas Tuchel with nine signings before the summer transfer window ends.
ESPN report Todd Boehly wants to seal three more first-team additions – Wesley Fofana, Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
He also wants to recruit Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei, but the 19-year-old would be considered signing for the future.

The 24-year-old helped Milan to the Serie A title last season and will hope to continue his exploits to earn a spot in Gareth Southgate’s 2022 World Cup squad.
Manchester United have raised their goalkeeper budget this summer as Erik ten Hag eyes a candidate to challenge David de Gea for the No 1 shirt.
The Athletic report United, previously unwilling to go over £1m in their goalie search, are now open to splashing up to £7m on a new stopper this month.
And Ten Hag has identified Leeds United’s Illan Meslier as a genuine option to succeed De Gea for the long-term, although he’s off the market this summer.
Work behind the scenes has intensified and agents have been made aware of United’s increased search.
Liverpool continue to be strongly linked to Sporting Club midfielder Matheus Nunes as fans clamour for a new signing in the area.
However, Jurgen Klopp isn’t understood to be actively looking to strengthen his squad this summer with the Portugal international.
The Athletic report that Liverpool weren’t interested when speculation started weeks ago, and that is still the case.
Arsenal sealing a cut-price deal for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer is considered unlikely after the Gunners failed to follow up their long-term interest, The Athletic report.
Tielemans is thought to be available for just £25million after refusing a new contract at the King Power Stadium, with his current deal expiring next June.
Manchester United have also been linked during their midfield-focused window but are also yet to make a concrete approach.
Adrien Rabiot and his mother/agent, Veronique, will meet Manchester United football director John Murtough in Turin on Friday, according to reports.
United are attempting to agree personal terms with Rabiot, whose current demands of £7m per year are deemed too high.
Murtough will hope face-to-face talks with the player will successfully persuade him to move to Old Trafford this summer.

The Barcelona midfielder is also of interest to Chelsea, who are supposedly preparing to match the Red Devils’ bid in the hope that Champions League football can swing the pendulum in their direction.
Despite odds stacking up against the Red Devils, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that they are reluctant to down tools after spending months of the summer window trying to haul a deal over the line.
£72million agreement has been in place for weeks while United wait for various complications to be resolved by the player and Barca.
Leicester City will refuse to bow to Chelsea over their pursuit of Wesley Fofana by continuing to select the French defender in their matchday squads, according to reports.
Fofana is said to have emerged as a high-priority target for Chelsea, who are still looking to add another first-choice central defender to their ranks before the summer transfer window closes next month.
The Blues have already seen at least two lucrative bids knocked back by Leicester, who are in no mood to sell their prized asset in spite of Chelsea’s fixation on bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
The Foxes are still planning to deploy Fofana at the heart of their defence and Brendan Rodgers will ignore the ongoing speculation over his future by naming him as a starter for this weekend’s match against Arsenal, according to CBS Sports.
Marcus Rashford would be open to the idea of swapping Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain before the summer transfer window slams shut, according to reports.
The England ace is only tied down at Old Trafford until the end of this season and is said to have emerged as a surprise target for PSG, who could look to tempt United with a sizeable cash offer in the not-too-distant future.
The French outfit have already spoken to Rashford’s camp about the possibility of a move over the coming weeks, but the Red Devils are yet to receive any concrete proposals originating from Paris as things stand.
However, it seems as though a change of scenery could well be on the cards for the 24-year-old, who is ‘keen’ on taking up a new challenge with his prospective suitors, according to transfer expert Julien Laurens.
