Manchester United are thinking about gambling on Newcastle forward Allan Saint-Maximin, according to reports. The Frenchman produced a stellar display on Sunday as the Magpies drew 3-3 with Premier League champions Manchester City at St James’ Park

The 25-year-old tormented the City backline and set-up two of his side’s goals as the north east giants continued their unbeaten start to the season. And a big-money move to Old Trafford could now be on the cards.
The Red Devils have already landed Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen this summer after a dismal campaign last time around. And they are also chasing Ajax forward Antony and PSV attacker Cody Gakpo.
United endured a miserable start to the new Premier League season as they were defeated 2-1 at home to Brighton before being humbled 4-0 at Brentford. But on Monday night they finally got their campaign up and running as they stunned Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford. And club chiefs will be hoping for more good news in the transfer market.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are confident of signing Everton starlet Anthony Gordon before the end of the week and are also targeting AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, according to the Times. And across the capital, Arsenal could be about to sanction a move for Nicolas Pepe, who could become Leicester’s first significant signing of the summer.

Bayer Leverkusen are set to capture Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan move, despite interest from Newcastle and Southampton.
Borussia Dortmund were another team interested but the Evening Standard say it is Leverkusen where the forward is headed.
Blues co-owner Todd Boehly pleaded with Hudson-Odoi, 21, to only leave on loan and he will head to the Bundesliga in search of regular minutes to aid his development.
Fabrizio Romano claims Arsenal do have alternative targets to Pedro Neto in mind -including Moussa Diaby and Yeremy Pino.
He said on the Here We Go Podcast: “Pedro Neto is the main target as a new winger. I’m told Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Pedro Neto and Edu has been exploring this possibility for a long time. It’s true also that Arsenal sent scouts to watch two players many times. Moussa Diary [is one] but for Bayer Leverkusen he is untouchable and they’re offering him a new deal.
“[The second is] Yeremy Pino, important player for Villarreal but still no bid or negotiations. Pedro Neto is the main target but it’s not easy to negotiate because Wolves want more than £50million.
“Let’s see after the outgoings what happens. Neto would be really tempted by Arsenal but I’m told he player is not forcing anything as of now but he’d be keen to go to Arsenal.”
West Ham have confirmed the capture of Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri.

Besiktas are in talks with Bournemouth over a loan move for attacker Siriki Dembele, Express Sport understands.
The Ivorian, who moved to the Vitality Stadium on deadline day in January from Peterborough, is yet to feature in the Premier League under Scott Parker after netting just twice in 13 Championship outings for the Cherries last term.
Now Turkish giants Besiktas are looking to sign the player on loan with an option to buy – although Bournemouth’s demands are currently proving to be a stumbling block.
The south coast club would prefer a permanent sale while Besiktas hope Bournemouth will reduce the option to buy under discussions.
Chelsea have seen a third bid for Wesley Fofana rejected by Chelsea, according to various reports.
The Blues have reportedly tabled £70m including add-ons but some of the bonuses have been described by club sources as “ambitious”.
Leicester remain adamant the Frenchman is not for sale but the defender has already indicated that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
Fofana was left out of the Foxes squad that lost 2-1 to Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League.
Chelsea could yet return with a third offer – although they may have to match the £80m Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in order to strike a deal.
