Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are among Premier League clubs expected to complete business before the summer transfer window slams shut at 11pm on September 1. Over £1.3billion has been spent in the English top-flight so far, and top spenders Chelsea (£160m) look destined to extend that status further with a few more additions in Thomas Tuchel’s sights.
The Blues are in talks over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Wesley Fofana and are challenging United for his Barcelona teammate Frenkie de Jong. They also have a £16m decision to make over another target as Todd Boehly plans to back Tuchel with north of £300m in his first summer as owner.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are battling the Red Devils for a highly-rated Premier League midfielder and could launch a pursuit before the transfer deadline. Barca boss Xavi Hernandez has also provided an update on De Jong’s situation as his whirlwind summer saga nears its judgement day.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing £50million-rated Everton youngster Anthony Gordon this summer. The Toffees are believed to have held internal discussions over Blues outcasts Michy Batshuayi and Armando Broja, who could be introduced as part of the prospective deal.
Gordon has attracted plenty of Premier League interest over the past few weeks with Tottenham and Newcastle United both trying their luck.
Now, The Times claim that free-spending Chelsea have joined the party as the club’s new owners look to add youth to the squad. Gordon, 21, has become a regular fixture in Everton’s starting line-up and played in each of the Toffees’ first two Premier League games up top in Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence.
Newcastle director Amanda Staveley was been spotted at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s match with Newcastle as the Magpies continue chasing three Blues players in the transfer market.
With just two weeks left of the transfer window, Newcastle are running out of time to fulfil Eddie Howe’s transfer wishes. And it appears as though Newcastle’s board are going to try and test Chelsea’s resolve with a bid for Conor Gallagher.
It’s been claimed the midfielder is Newcastle’s No 1 transfer target and the club are looking to make a bid worth £40million. Both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Armando Broja have also been linked with moves to St James’ Park.
Nottingham Forest have confirmed they have signed Swiss international Remo Freuler from Serie A side Atalanta.
A statement read: “Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Remo Freuler from Italian Serie A side Atalanta.“A Switzerland international, the 30-year-old has earned 46 caps for his country, having made his international debut in 2017 and has also appeared at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals and UEFA Euro 2020.”
Giovani Lo Celso appears to have sealed another loan move to Villarreal from Tottenham.
The midfielder spent the second half of last season at the La Liga club, and according to Fabrizio Romano another loan spell has been confirmed.
“Official, confirmed. Gio Lo Celso re joins Villarreal on loan deal valid until June 2023, agreement completed few days ago with Tottenham and now sealed,” he tweeted.
Manchester United want to see a change in Cristiano Ronaldo‘s behaviour or will start to consider terminating his contract, according to reports.
The Portugal international has sulked his way through matches against Brighton and Brentford so far this term. And he’s failed to score in either match amid his desire to leave.
Now, according to Sky Sports, United want to see a change in attitude from the 37-year-old.
And if he doesn’t heed their advice, then the Red Devils will consider terminating his contract a year early.
Udinese defender Desiny Udogie is rumoured to be on his way to London in order to complete a move to Tottenham.
The highly-rated 19-year-old will spend the rest of the season in Italy before joining up with Spurs next summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Plan confirmed. Destiny Udogie will land in London around 8pm tonight, medicals scheduled with Tottenham early next week.”
Manchester City right-back Issa Kabore looks set to seal a loan move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
According to The Mail, the 21-year-old is set to depart to gain some much-needed first-team experience, and will remain in France until the end of the season.
Manchester United senior figures think there’s no quick fix for Erik ten Hag in the wake of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Brentford, according to reports.

Bernardo Silva is expected to leave Manchester City for Barcelona this summer, according to AS.
And interestingly, the Spanish outlet claims his Nou Camp arrival isn’t dependent on whether Barca offload Frenkie de Jong or not.
The La Liga giants were thought to be trying to cash in on De Jong to free up financial space for Bernardo and to register their existing signings.

Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Marcus Rashford this month and are preparing a formal offer, The Times report.
It’s claimed PSG are ready to hand Manchester United a transfer fee and Rashford a long-term contract after positive talks with the 24-year-old.
The Ligue 1 champions plan to integrate Rashford into their stellar front three before utilising him as part of a front two with Kylian Mbappe beyond Lionel Messi’s departure.
His United contract expires next summer but the club have the option to extend it until 2024 and are said to be relaxed about the situation.

But despite his substitute role in the La Liga opener, Barca boss Xavi Hernandez insisted he remains a key part of his plans.
After full-time, he said: “No, Frenkie de Jong is not a substitute. I don’t know what will happen with the market. I can guarantee that if he stays, he will be important for us.”
United will reportedly launch their final push for De Jong next week, while murmurs in Spain claim he has told teammates he could move to Old Trafford near the end of the window.
Chelsea have a decision to make in their pursuit of Inter Milan starlet Cesare Casasei after the Serie A giants made fresh demands over a transfer.
The Mirror report Inter want £15.5m up front after rejecting an initial proposal thought to be worth around £8.5m.
