Noel Whelan has claimed it was “disrespectful” for Glen Kamara to fuel rumours of a Rangers exit with a new interview in Finnish media.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 26-year-old must “let his football do the talking”.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (25 September) that Rangers are willing to sell Kamara in January with two big-name signings possibly needed.
It is understood that the Ibrox club are hopeful of getting a £10million-plus fee for the Finland international, who is under contract until 2025.
Speaking to Finnish outlet Helsingin Sanomat (26 September), Kamara revealed that he has “always dreamed of playing in the Premier League” – and detailed ambitions to play in a “top-five league”.
He insisted fans would have to “wait and see what happens” with his future in upcoming windows.

The former Arsenal star has made 10 appearances for Rangers so far this season with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side struggling for form.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I don’t think any player should be coming out like that.
“But this is what you get in this day and age if players aren’t satisfied. They’ll put themselves out there.
“He won’t be short of offers, there’s no doubt about it. But it’s a bit disrespectful to come out and put pressure on the club.
“Everyone has aspirations but to play at that level he will need to do it a bit more for his current club.
“When you’re under contract at a club, you’ve got to show respect. Don’t start trying to sell yourself – right now you’ve got a lot to do still at Rangers.
“He’s got to let his football do the talking, and that dream may just become a reality at some point.”
