Frank McAvennie has claimed it would be “suicidal” for Rangers to sell Leon King in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said that although the Gers need the money, they have too many injury problems to let King go any time soon.
On Tuesday (18 October), sources told this site that Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt have joined Man United, Leeds United and Newcastle United in the hunt for the 18-year-old.

The centre-back has two years left on his contract at Ibrox after signing a new deal earlier this year.
The Light Blues are suffering a defensive shortage after Connor Goldson and Ben Davies joined Filip Helander and John Souttar on Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s injury list.
When asked by Football Insider if a January exit could be on the cards, McAvennie issued a three-word verdict: “Not a chance.

They have not got any centre-halves.
If they are going to sell him they have to say ‘you cannot have him now’. They have not got any players.

King has made 14 appearances for the Glasgow club across all competitions this season, including four Champions League appearances.
Last season, the academy graduate made the same number of appearances across the whole season.
In other news, sources have told this site that Rangers have set their sights on signing Jerry Yates after Saturday transfer mission.
