Pundit issues emphatic Darwin Nunez verdict after Liverpool injury update today – Football Insider

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez following impressive displays against West Ham and Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton goalscorer said the 23-year-old “frees up space” for Mohamed Salah when playing.
Nunez was ruled out of Liverpool’s trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday because of injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 1-0 at the City Ground in the Uruguayan’s absence.
According to The Athletic‘s James Pearce on Sunday (23 October), the centre-forward should be back in contention for the trip to Ajax on Wednesday.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Nunez’s form, Campbell said: “Listen, he made a difference against Man City and West Ham.

“He was exposing the defence. When he plays it frees up Salah. The defenders have to worry about Nunez as well as Salah. It frees up space for others.
“Nunez’s finishing has not been the best but other than that…
“He caused Man City all sorts of problems with his strength, pace, power and movement. I think he has done really well in recent weeks. He is a presence.
“I have been impressed with him. I think he has made a real difference in recent weeks.”
Nunez has five goals and one assist to his name in 12 appearances for the Reds this season.
Liverpool travel to Ajax before a home fixture against Leeds United on Saturday (29 October).
