Derby County have confirmed that there is 'no plan' to appoint a director of football despite Paul Warne being named as the club's head coach rather than the manager.
Warne signed a four-year contract on Thursday and the announcement made clear that he would become the club's new head coach. Previously, Liam Rosenior had been referred to as the club's interim manager throughout the season. Wayne Rooney's role was also that of first team manager before resigning from that position this summer.
This change in wording has led to suggestions that a technical director or director of football figure could be recruited by David Clowes. But those rumours were put to bed during a supporters club groups meeting.

"There is nothing to read into the title of Head Coach – there is no plan for Technical Director/Director of Football – it is just commensurate with Head of Recruitment, and Head of Academy, which they will move their focus to now," the meeting's full minutes, published by Black and White Together, read.
"They see these three roles as working as a team," it is added.
