Kevin Campbell has suggested Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak could line up front together for Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker insisted the duo would be a “handful for anybody”.
Isak has been thrown straight into the starting line up in Newcastle’s last two Premier League games with Wilson out injured.
Wilson, who scored twice in the opening three games of the season, has missed the last three fixtures with a hamstring injury.
Medical Insider Ben Dinnery told Football Insider earlier this month (2 September) that the 30-year-old may not feature for the Magpies until after the international break in October.
Asked how he will fit in upon his return, Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs: “They might just play both and tinker with the system a little bit.

“They’ve got enough players to change the system if they so need to. Can you imagine Isak and Wilson up top? They’d be a handful for anybody.
“The key is Wilson keeping fit. That’s the issue Newcastle have. Him coming in for four or five games and then pulling up with a muscle injury or whatever is going to be difficult.
“Maybe they might bring him back slowly while Isak plays. Get him in there whenever needs be. Bring him on late on in games or with 20 minutes to go to see how they might do together.
“That might be the way forward. If they can click together, those two will be a handful.”
In other news, a finance guru has claimed Newcastle United are to “push the boundaries” as an FFP rule change is imminent.
