Manchester United are reportedly in a strong position to re-sign Memphis Depay from Barcelona. Reports from Spain claim Erik ten Hag wants to sign his fellow Dutchman and the situation ‘should be resolved today’.
United are in the market for attacking players before the end of the transfer window on September 1. Ajax winger Antony is a top target for Ten Hag, having managed him for two years at his previous club.
But Depay has also been linked with an Old Trafford return and a deal could be imminent. Spanish outlet Sport claims Juventus have now pulled out of the race to sign Depay and United are now leading the way for his signature, with an outcome expected on Thursday.
Ten Hag is said to have requested to sign the 28-year-old, who could be available for free if his Barcelona contract is cancelled. Depay is also prioritising a move back to the Red Devils.

Juve looked set to be the destination for Depay, as Barca aim to shift players and reduce their wage bill. However, the player’s financial demands are said to be too high for the Serie A giants.
Depay is claimed to have an agreement with Barca to cancel his contract, if he can agree a move with another club. However, he rejected all offers Juve put on the table for him.
Depay wants around £5.9million net per season in wages but Juve are instead focusing their attention on signing Marseille striker Arkadiusz Milik. Juve understand they will not be able to compete with United financially, which has left the door wide open for the Red Devils.
Depay had an unhappy first spell at United after joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2015. The £25million signing made just 53 appearances for the club before leaving to join Lyon in January 2017.

‘Wow!’ Ten Hag faces Antony question as Man Utd boss told to change targets He was very much a winger when he first joined United. However, during his time in Ligue 1, he adapted his game to become a central striker.
Ronald Koeman prioritised his signing at Barca last summer but his time at the Nou Camp is already set to come to an end. New boss Xavi has since brought in Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, though the latter could also leave for Chelsea.
Depay would provide another striker option for Ten Hag amid continued doubt over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future. Ronaldo wants to leave in this window and was dropped for Monday’s win over Liverpool.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial shared the striker duties against Jurgen Klopp’s side. But the pair have struggled in front of goal in their last couple of years at the club.
