Alaba revealed that he was in the same situation a year ago and wished Casemiro good luck from the bottom of his heart.

Latest government guidance on sporting events this weekend
"There is no obligation to cancel or postpone events and sporting fixtures, or close entertainment venues during the National Mourning period. This is at the discretion of individual organisations.
"As a mark of respect, organisations might wish to consider cancelling or postponing events or closing venues on the day of the State Funeral. They are under no obligation to do so and this is entirely at the discretion of individual organisations."
DCMS advise no sporting events should take place this weekend
Julian Knight, chairman of the DCMS, has informed TalkSPORT that government advice suggests no sporting events should take place this weekend or on the day of Her Majesty's funeral.
It confirms that the final decision is up to individual sporting bodies.
Jose Mourinho pays tribute to The Queen
Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to The Queen following the announcement of her death.
When speaking to Sky Sports Italia after Roma's 2-1 defeat to Ludogorets, he said: "I am so sorry to hear this news.
"I am not a foreigner in Britain, it is my home, my family’s home, we’ve lived there for many years.
"She was a wonderful figure. I don’t know anyone who didn’t have respect for her. She was a great lady as well as a Queen."
Premier League clubs expect fixtures to be cancelled
Many top-flight clubs are expecting this weekend's fixtures to be postponed, according to the Daily Mail.
The Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are currently meeting to determine what will happen to the rest of this weekend's sporting calendar.
Almost all of Friday's sporting programme was called off on Thursday night as a mark of respect.
Football pays tribute
Football paid tribute to The Queen on Thursday night with a minute's silence and black armbands in memory of Her Majesty.
Buckingham Palace announced Queen Elizabeth II had passed away after the Royal family gathered at Balmoral.
Later in the evening, Manchester United lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad at Old Trafford and West Ham beat FCSB 3-1 at the London Stadium.
And both matches saw fitting tributes paid to The Queen after it was confirmed the games would go ahead.
A statement from Man Utd read: "Following direction from the FA and UEFA, tonight’s UEFA Europa League fixture against Real Sociedad will take place as planned at Old Trafford.
"A minute’s silence will be held before kick-off which will allow the teams, match officials and everyone in attendance to pay their respects to Her Majesty, The Queen.
"Both teams will wear black armbands and the flags at Old Trafford will fly at half-mast as a sign of our utmost respect."
Following the Queen's death, Old Trafford flew their flags at half-mast as fans arrived to the ground.
And supporters already in the stadium watched the coverage on screens in the concourse.
When the teams came out ahead of the game, the black armbands were visible on both sets of players.
And all advertising hoardings around the ground had been blacked out.
At the London Stadium, West Ham adopted the same measures for their match.
And the minute's silence at both stadiums was perfectly respected before kick-off.
Premier League chiefs to make fixture decision this morning
Premier League officials are set to meet at 11am today to determine whether or not this weekend's fixtures will go ahead following the death of The Queen.
This comes after two EFL matches – scheduled to take place today – were postponed.
An EFL statement on Thursday evening read: "As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II earlier today, the EFL has confirmed that its fixtures scheduled for tomorrow evening (Friday 9 September) – Burnley v Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers v Stockport County – have been postponed.
"A determination regarding the remainder of this weekend’s scheduled fixtures will be made following a review of the official mourning guidance, in addition to further consultation with DCMS and other sports on Friday morning."
The Government is not planning to enforce a shutdown in sport as the UK enters 10 days of national mourning following the passing of the longest-reigning Sovereign in British history.
But Prem chief executive Richard Masters and his board are aware of a potential backlash if they play the weekend’s matches as scheduled.
And another factor is the potential drain on police resources as towns and cities up and down the land pay tribute to The Queen after her 70-year reign.
Man Utd 0-1 Real Sociedad
Manchester United lost 1-0 in their first Europa League game of the season against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.

This marked a rocky start in Europe for United following an impressive run of four wins in the Premier League.
The two teams held a minute's silence for Queen Elizabeth before the match following the news of her passing at the age of 96
Man Utd's tribute
Manchester United have paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a photo of their glory years.
The country's longest-reigning monarch died at the age of 96 after 70 remarkable years of service for our country.
United shared a picture of the Queen and changed their profile picture into black and white, as did several other teams.
Real Sociedad joined in on the tributes as they retweeted the Red Devils' post on Twitter

Casemiro's Man Utd warning
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes new boy Casemiro may have to face a spell on the sidelines while Scott McTominay continues to impress in midfield.
Saha told "It’s important to know as a player at Manchester United that no matter who you are you have to work hard to play, and Scott is playing really well.
"He has youth on his side and he’s done well. I do think that Casemiro’s experience will help him and the squad. I’m sure about that.
"It’s a very long season and there will be injuries and resting, players will dip in and out of form, so everyone in the squad has to be ready.
"And this squad for Manchester United is amazing"

Brobbey move blocked
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was blocked from bringing a third Ajax star to Old Trafford.
Two of his first signings were Lisandro Martinez and Antony, both of whom came from his former club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ten Hag made contact with Brian Brobbey over a possible move to United.
However, talks never reached "concrete negotiations" as Ajax shut down any possible deal with the Red Devils
Got your Ba
Real Madrid star David Alaba has backed Casemiro's decision to leave for Manchester United.
This is after the Brazil international's other former Real team-mate Toni Kroos aimed a subtle dig criticising players for prioritising their salary over chances of competing for trophies.
Kroos told the OMR podcast: "Television money has been significantly higher in England for years and yet it hasn't resulted in English teams winning everything. Thank God not all players look only at salary but also at winning."
However, Alaba has insisted he supports Casemiro's decision to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Austria international told Goal: "I was in the same situation a year ago and we talked about it a lot.
"After nine years at Real Madrid he was looking for a new challenge. I wish him the best from the bottom of my heart"
Man Utd vs Real Sociedad preview
Manchester United take on Real Sociedad tonight in their first Europa League match of the season at Old Trafford.
United boss Erik Ten Hag could be tempted to rest Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford following their early withdrawals in the win against Arsenal.
The out-of-favour pair of Donny Van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will need assessing before the match.
Anthony Martial remains sidelined for the foreseeable future due to an Achilles injury.
However, Ten Hag could finally promote Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire and Casemiro to the starting XI.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil will be spoilt for choice as everyone is fit and raring to go for this huge contest
Man Utd rejected Paredes
Paris Saint-Germain ace Leandro Paredes was offered to Manchester United before he signed for Juventus on loan.
PSG wanted to sell Paredes and contacted United to see if they were keen.
But the Red Devils decided to pursue other targets and signed Casemiro instead, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Manchester giants were in dire need of reinforcement in midfield after losing Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic
Dalot snubbed Milan transfer return
Diogo Dalot admits he had the chance to return to AC Milan this summer but decided to stay put at Man Utd.
He said: "Milan are a great club and I loved the season with the Rossoneri.
"But it (the transfer) wasn't just up to me. In the end I decided to stay at United and it was the right decision.
"If I'm a better defender I owe it to Milan. Italian football is different from the Premier League and I had to adapt in just one year and playing in Serie A has helped me a lot."
Ron in the wrong tournament?
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his first appearance in the Europa League for 20 YEARS this evening.
The 37-year-old has not turned out in Europe's second-tier competition since way back in his Sporting Lisbon days.
But how did things pan out for Ronnie back then?
Stam gives tips to Martinez
Jaap Stam has told Lisandro Martinez what he needs to do to be a success at Man Utd.
The ex-Dutch defender said: "As a player he's very comfortable on the ball, you can see he's trying to find these passes in between lines.
"Defensively, he's very aggressive, sometimes he needs to be a little bit more aware of his opposition, not get caught or be too aggressive.
"But that's the thing you learn in the Premier League and what you learn playing against the big teams, better players than what he was used to in Holland and that's what he's picking up.
"You can see the player is making a change too in how to approach a game, how to go into the battles, the one v one's and what he needs to bring to game, which is a very positive thing."
Predicted Utd XI vs Sociedad
Man Utd kick off their Europa League campaign against Real Sociedad tonight.
And Erik ten Hag is sure to ring the changes after six Premier League matches.
Is this how the Red Devils will look this evening?
Dalot big fan of Marcus
Diogo Dalot believes Marcus Rashford can fire Man Utd to glory on the domestic and European fronts.
He said: “I’ve known Rashford for four, five years now and he’s an absolutely fantastic kid.
“Very good human being, which is for me the first big standard. And then as a player he is fantastic.
"We are so delighted for him to be scoring goals, to assist, to have an impact on this team, and I think every Man United fan wants Rashford to have success for us.”
Rashford has the Wright stuff
Ian Wright believes Marcus Rashford looks 'reborn' under Erik ten Hag.
He said: "Rashford looks reborn, he’s putting the pot on the fire because he’s ready to cook. In that instance [running through on goal], he looks unstoppable.
"The only thing that is going to stop him is if the pass isn’t good enough, or his touch isn’t good enough.
"Both of the finishes got a little clip off somebody, but he’s getting the luck now. With his pace, he is f****** dangerous."
United get academy Euro boost
Man Utd have boosted their Europa League squad with the addition of six academy players.
The Red Devils have confirmed goalie Radak Vitek, centre-back Tyler Fredricson and midfielder Kobbie Mainoo have all secured spots on this season's B-list.
Meanwhile, playmaker Zidane Iqbal, winger Shola Shoretire and striker Charlie McNeill are also set to be involved.
And all six have been training with United's senior squad ahead of tonight's opener against Real Sociedad.
Eriksen behind Bruno's epic transformation
Louis Saha reckons Christian Eriksen is the reason Bruno Fernandes has started to become a key player for Man Utd again.
He said: "I think it adds directness. It’s a different formula and it allows Bruno Fernandes to be a bit more deadly going forward with more freedom.
"He’s a very, very smart player. He has great quality on the ball and dictates the rhythm of the team and the midfield with his passing range.
"He’s a very, very special player. The manager has said that these players need to play a lot of games together to really understand the capacity of certain players."
Casemiro warned over playing time
Rio Ferdinand reckons Casemiro may have to get used to warming the bench following Scott McTominay's recent form.
The Man Utd legend told Vibe with Five: "Everyone’s wondering why Casemiro isn’t playing but this team are winning and I know as a player it’s hard to change a winning team, especially when they’ve been searching for some consistency for a long time.
"If they continue keeping on winning it’s going to be difficult for Casemiro to get into this team at the moment no matter how good he is and I think he’s the best holding midfielder in the world right now.
"The manager is more interested in the culture and the team over individuals."
