RALPH WILSON/Sun-Gazette Correspondent Susquehanna quarterback Michael Ruisch (15) gets past Lycoming’s Marshall Charles (10) during Lycoming’s home opener on Saturday. Susquehanna won, 45-16.
Lycoming lost last week to Susquehanna in a lopsided contest, 45-16. But the Warriors aren’t dwelling on that loss and shifted their focus to Lebanon Valley today on the road for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
It’s one of two straight road games for the Warriors as Lycoming isn’t back home until Oct. 1 against King’s.
Last week, Jersey Shore graduate Elijah Shemory threw for just 92 yards, going 6 for 20, with an interception. Lycoming’s ground game wasn’t able to get going, either, as the Warriors leading rusher was Shemory, who had 25 yards on 11 carries with a rushing touchdown.
Brandon Timothy led Lycoming’s reeceivers with 33 receiving yards. Billy Coppock had 21 yards receiving and Aaron Wolcott had 20.
Lycoming’s defense allowed 520 yards of total offense and will look to improve for this afternoon’s contest.
Lebanon Valley is coming off a 26-7 loss to Franklin & Marshall and will look to improve on the offensive side as it managed just one touchdown.
Lebanon Valley’s defense was key, forcing two interceptions.
Braden Bohannon threw for 141 yards last week, going 15 for 30, and also led Lebanon Valley with 65 rushing yards. While Lebanon Valley did have two takeaways — the two big interceptions — the Dutchmen turned it over twice as well.
Lycoming is riding a three-game win streak against Lebanon Valley. The Warriors beat the Dutchmen in 2021 (31-6), 2019 (48-3) and in 2018 (23-10).
Defensively, Lycoming hasn’t allowed Lebanon Valley to score more than one touchdown in a game since 2017.
