Second Quarter
Scoring Update: LSU 17, Ole Miss 17
Daniels with a great decision to keep the ball in his hands there on first and goal, punching in 3-yard touchdown. 7-play, 78-yard touchdown drive. 3:02 off the clock. Excellent response from this group.
Jayden Daniels connects with Mason Taylor for a 38-yard gain on the first play of the drive and the Tigers are in Ole Miss territory.
Tigers come up with a huge defensive stop on third down and force an Ole Miss punt. LSU gets the ball back with 11:35 remaining in the second quarter.
Score Update: Ole Miss 17, LSU 10
Jayden Daniels connects with Jaray Jenkins for a 34-yard touchdown. Mr. Reliable, Jenkins, does it again.
This LSU offensive line has been lights out today. Incredible protection from this group to say the least. Jayden Daniels with an exceptional amount of time in the pocket while the rushing attack is also dialed in.
Armoni Goodwin has been efficient on the ground for LSU. Two carries for 24 yards. It's nice to see the youngster back and healthy again after a scary injury suffered a few weeks ago.
Rebels take the points, kicking in a field goal to go up 17-3. Surprising to see Head Coach Lane Kiffin elect to kick the chip-shot field goal rather than go for it on fourth down, but he took the points.
First Quarter
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is picking this LSU secondary apart. 9-of-10 for 152 yards on his first 10 attempts. Rebels are in the red zone.
Score Update: Ole Miss 14, LSU 3
LSU's drive stalls in Ole Miss territory and they settle for another field goal attempt. Damian Ramos misses the kick.
Armoni Goodwin getting his first touches of the game on LSU's second offensive drive. After missing a few games due to a hamstring injury, he's back, breaking open a 20-yard gain on his first carry.
The Tigers were called for three pass interference penalties on their second defensive possession with one reversing an interception.
Score Update: Ole Miss 14, LSU 3
LSU makes a key stop on fourth and goal, but pass interference called on BJ Ojulari gives them the ball back. Rebels waste no time to punch in the touchdown. Another one for Quinshon Judkins.
The Rebels are getting just about anything they want on offense. While they're carving up the secondary, chunk plays on the ground continue to give this LSU defense fits. Undisciplined penalties are also getting in the way of defensive success.
Ole Miss starts their second drive with a 28-yard gain. Jaxson Dart hits Malik Heath on a crossing route that puts them in great field position.
Score Update: Ole Miss 7, LSU 3
Daniels just misses Kayshon Boutte in the corner of the end zone and LSU will settle for a 23-yard field goal from Damian Ramos.
Tigers pounding the ball on the ground. Five of their first six plays via a run play. After a quick route from Daniels to Kyren Lacy, LSU is inside the 10-yard line.
LSU going up-tempo offensively on their first drive. Brian Kelly harped on needing to get out fast against this defense. They're doing just that on this opening drive. Balanced attack of Jayden Daniels and running back Josh Williams, who got the start today.
Score Update: Ole Miss 7, LSU 0
Dart with three straight completions to put the Rebels in the red zone. Freshman running back Quinshon Judkins punches in the touchdown. 1:37 drive.
Rebels going with quick routes to start this one. With the scouting report detailing how talented the Rebels' rushing attack is, they've proved quarterback Jaxson Dart can get it done through the air as well.
Pregame
Ole Miss has won the coin toss and has elected to receive. Tigers will get the ball first to start the second half.
With Jack Bech out today, the Tigers will start Gregory Clayton as their kick returner and punt returner.
Anthony Bradford and Miles Frazier are warming up with the starting offensive line unit. From left to right: Will Campbell (LT), Miles Frazier (LG), Charles Turner (C), Anthony Bradford (RG) and Emery Jones (RT).
Harold Perkins has been listed in the starting lineup for the Tigers tonight. Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke earlier this week about his role being expanded this week with a larger snap count. Look for Perkins to make an impact today.
LSU running back Armoni Goodwin, as planned, is dressed out and will take snaps today for the Tigers. Goodwin has missed some time with what was labeled as a “significant” hamstring injury.
LSU will be without starting left guard Garrett Dellinger again as he nurses an MCL injury in his right. It's expected Dellinger takes the bye week to rehab and will be back against Alabama the following week.
After being listed as day-to-day, LSU wide receiver Jack Bech is dressed in sweats and will not suit up for the Tigers against Ole Miss.
