Live updates: Illinois 31, Wisconsin 10 – 247Sports

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin (2-2) returns home to take on Illinois (3-1) on Saturday in the first Big Ten West Division matchup of the season.
The Badgers have dominated this series, winning 11 of the last 12 and 18 of the last 20 overall against the Illini. UW will also welcome back former head coach Bret Bielema to Camp Randall for the first time since his departure in 2012.
UW is looking to rebound following an embarrassing 52-21 loss to Ohio State in week four. Meanwhile, UI is off to its best start since 2015 and looks to keep the momentum going.
Can the Badgers get back on track at home? Or will the Illini win in Madison for the first time since 2002?

Live updates:
UW 7, Illinois 0: Isaac Guerendo was the story of that drive. He gave the Badgers’ offense great starting field position with a 38-yard kickoff return and then made a diving catch for a 21-yad touchdown. Quarterback Graham Mertz was sharp, completing all four of his passes for 54 yards.
UW 7, Illinois 7: After Mertz threw an interception, Illinois started at the Wisconsin 16 and drove to the 1-yard line. It appeared the defense had held the Illini on fourth down, but a pass interference call on Jay Shaw extended the drive. The Illini then took advantage, punching the ball in from the 1-yard line.
UW 10, Illinois 7: Wisconsin drove into Illinois territory again, but the 10-play march stalled at the 21-yard line. Nate Van Zelst came on for a 39-yard field goal and drilled it. The Badgers’ rushing attack hasn’t been working at all. They have 10 carries for one yard. Mertz has been sharp, though, as he has 98 yards passing with one touchdown and an interception, which was not entirely his fault.
Illinois 14, UW 10: The Badgers’ defense was penalized twice for defensive pass interference on that drive, and Illinois takes a 14-10 lead on another sneak from DeVito. UW’s defensive backs have been on the wrong end of some questionable calls today.
Illinois 21, UW 10: Illinois goes 10 plays in 75 yards to open the half, with DeVito scoring on another quarterback sneak. The Badgers are in the danger zone now.
Illinois 24, UW 10: Illinois took over at the UW 16 after Guerendo fumbled the kickoff. The defense held strong, though, forcing the Illini to a field goal.
Illinois 31, UW 10: The rout is on now. Running back Chase Brown just gashed the Badgers for a 49-yard score. What an embarrassing display in front of the home crowd.
