Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris will likely add to the £444million worth of capital injections they have invested into Aston Villa as they prepare to back Unai Emery in the transfer market.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the budget with which the new manager will be entrusted.
Emery was announced as Steven Gerrard’s successor on Monday (24 October), with Villa currently 15th in the Premier League and performing well below expectations.
A source told Football Insider on Thursday (28 October) that the owners will let the former Arsenal boss oversee a “huge overhaul” in January.
Edens and Sawiris sanctioned a £15.5million capital injection earlier this month, the most recent in a series of direct financial boosts from the owners to the club.
Maguire forecasts that the latest round of investment will be made under the same model.

Edens and Sawiris have already put £444m into Villa in the form of shares,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
The good news is that these don’t have to be paid and there is no interest.
The downside is that you are only allowed to include the first £90m of equity over a rolling three-year period as far as FFP is concerned. Any additional money that comes in does not contribute towards FFP.
Villa might be needing snookers if they continue to spend at previous levels.
Having said that, there is no doubt that the owners are keen to get things right on the pitch. Therefore, they will back the manager to the very limit in terms as far as spending and Financial Fair Play is concerned.
