John Eustace provides update on Przemyslaw Placheta’s situation at Birmingham City – Football League World

As John Eustace looked to strengthen his Birmingham City side this season, the Blues secured a loan deal for Norwich City winger Przemyslaw Placheta.

The 24-year-old started the season playing in Eustace’s side as part of the starting 11. However, after suffering from a shin injury, he has been out since August.
His absence in the side has caused the Blues to play some players out of position although they will also be keen to have him back in the side due to the fact he already has a goal under his belt this season.
With just two weeks to go until the Championship takes a break for the World Cup, a return before then is looking unlikely but with five games to play before then, it causes Birmingham some issues.
However, the boss provided some disappointing news in terms of his progress as he told Blues TV: “Pep’s still doing alright, he has had some really bad luck with his shin injury unfortunately he is still a work in progress really.

“He is not progressing as quickly as we want but he is working his socks off in that gym and I know the medical department are as well. It’s a really frustrating period for him but he won’t be back now until possibly after the [World Cup] break.”
The Verdict:
This is disappointing news for Birmingham and for Placheta as he started the season in good form and would have hoped to have had a good season on loan at St Andrew’s.

He was unlucky with his injury and it seems as though his recovery has been more of the same in that respect which must be frustrating for the player.
That being said, with a break coming up so soon there is the hope that over the time out he will be able to get up to fitness and return for his squad after the World Cup to have an impact in the second half of the season.
