‘I think we should give credit to our bowlers for the way they bowled. And also not to forget our fielders, who did well to keep the batters under pressure by helping the bowlers. We read the wicket really well and set the field according to it. Yes, that’s what we thought. We weren’t looking at the scorecard. We were targeting every five overs. We were looking to work in sets. And once we won each and every set, I knew that we were in front.’

“Yes, it’s a tough day as a team. Not a good batting display as a team. I am really upset. The plus points are the tough situations that we came through. The batting has to improve and bowling is fine. There are a couple of youngsters and hope they do well and play in the future and do well. The T20 World Cup is next year and I hope we take the positives and come out stronger.”
“Yeah, I am happy with how we played as a unit. We have been performing exceedingly well. We need to focus on small points. We bowled well. We have been working hard as a team. I have been working hard in practise. Overall, have been working hard.”
“Yes definitely I am very happy. In the last few games, I didn’t bowl well. I practiced with my coach and staff and got better. I didn’t try anything, just stick to the basics and got rewards. The whole team supported me a lot and I am happy to get the results. Thank You.”
Smriti Mandhana finishes off with a six reaching her 50 in just 25 balls. Sri Lanka was completely outplayed. Indian women looked the class apart. India chased down a total of 66 with 69 balls to go on what looked like a difficult surface. India only lost to Pakistan in the tournament. As captain Harmanpreet Kaur said at the toss different players stepped up at different stages of the tournament. Today it was Renuka Singh with the ball and Mandhana with the bat. Congratulations to Indian women for lifting this trophy for the seventh time. All eyes now on men to do well Down Under.

Smriti Mandhana is not in the mood for playing it slow and finishing on a run-a-ball innings with not out next to her name. She just wants to finish it off as quickly as possible. India just needs 14 to win.

India starts quickly off the blocks. They are in hurry to lift the trophy. Smriti Mandhana taking on the spinners the crowd cheering India! After three India 25/0
Number 10 Inoka Ranaweera is the top scorer of the innings with 18 of 22 balls that’s all that needs to be known about the batting performance. Two runouts in the innings. On the other hand, India’s Renuka Singh had a terrific game. She picked up three wickets with the new ball and Sri Lankans helped with two runouts. The wicket is gripping and turning and the odd ball is keeping low but to defend this total Sri Lankan bowlers have to bowl out of their skins against the formidable Indian batting lineup.

We are into death overs but for Sri Lanks it is all about playing the overs. They managed to score 50 after losing nine.
First things first congratulations to Bangladesh women’s team they get to keep their lowest team total tally. India have put on a test field with slips and short legs for the lower-order Srilankan batters. Sri Lanka is looking to bat out their quota. The lowest total defended in the Asia Cup final is by India which is 81 in 2012 against Pakistan. However, as of now, SL is on 38/8.

The spinners are ruling the roost here Syhleth. The ball is turning square. Some ordinary cricket by Srilankans and smart bowling by Indians. SL 18/6
Renuka, 26, is still very new in international cricket but has given glimpses that India’s fast bowling is in safe hands and she is ready to carry forward the baton from Jhulan Goswami. In Jhulan’s final match, it was Renuka’s opening spell burst of 4 for 29, which opened the gates for India. She dismissed Tammy Beaumont, Emma Lamb, Sophia Dunkley, and England skipper Amy Jones.
