Millwall manager Gary Rowett has revealed that although Tyler Burey is likely to miss the club’s next two fixtures, the forward could potentially make his return to action on September 17th when they face Blackpool.

The Lions are scheduled to play Sunderland tomorrow before hosting Queens Park Rangers at The Den on Wednesday.
Burey sustained a knee injury after being introduced as a substitute in Millwall’s meeting with Cardiff City last weekend.
The Lions managed to seal all three points in this particular fixture as they scored twice in the second-half.
Charlie Cresswell opened the scoring for Millwall by heading home from Scott Malone’s cross.

Benik Afobe then secured victory for the Lions by doubling their advantage in the 90th minute.

Currently 14th in the Championship standings, Millwall will be determined to push on under the guidance of Rowett over the course of the coming months.

Making reference to Burey, Rowett has admitted that the forward is likely to be available for selection for the club’s upcoming clash with Blackpool.
Speaking to News at Den, the Millwall boss said: “Tyler may not be out for that long, but certainly the weekend and maybe the midweek game.
“We’re hoping that he might be available for the back end of the week for the second home game [against Blackpool].
“That’s more or less where we are at the moment.”

The Verdict
Millwall would have been fearing the worst when Burey sustained an issue with his knee last week and thus the news that he is not set to be out of action for a considerable period of time is unquestionably a boost.
When the forward is fit enough to feature again, it will be interesting to see whether he will be able to step up the mark for his side.
During the current campaign, Burey has yet to score a goal for his side despite making eight appearances in all competitions.

In order to bolster his chances of starting games on a regular basis, the 21-year-old will need to work on his consistency as he is currently only averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.37 in the Championship.
