CHELSEA successfully progressed into the last-16 of the Champions League with a win over Austrian giants RB Salzburg.
Kai Havertz' sensational goal was the difference maker and it ultimately ended Salzburg's 40-game unbeaten run at home.
And it seems as if Graham Potter wants to strengthen his side with Chelsea reportedly plotting a move for Brazilian wonderkid Endrick.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo could face an awkward return to their old clubs.
Juventus were dumped out of the Champions League and are on course for Europa League qualification, while Manchester United sit second in Group E of Europe's second tier elite competition.

David Moyes eyeing European glory
West Ham boss David Moyes believes his side are well placed to enjoy a good run in this season's Conference League competition.
He said: "I see this as this an opportunity for us to go really far in another competition.
"Even to win the FA Cup or League Cup is really difficult in this country, so I think we've got to do everything we can to win this competition.
"We've qualified from the group already so in that regard, it's job done. Our next little bit is trying to win the group.
"We're hoping we can do that. We'll go out with the intention of winning it, getting it done early. We've got Premier League games to come but we know, if we can win this game, it puts an awful lot to bed – particularly later on as you miss a couple of qualifying games."
Ferdinand raves about Liverpool target
Rio Ferdinand thinks Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is better than Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney were when they were aged 19.
He said on BT Sport: "I think he improves every team in the world, he’s that good.
“For young players aspiring to become footballers, you’ve got to understand that, your attitude and mentality play such a big part of that.
“19 years old in Champions League football, how many of us were being talked about ‘oh we’ll give him the armband’?
“There’s a queue that’d go out the dressing room before we’d get it and you’re talking about the best of our generation, the Steven Gerrards, Frank Lampards, Wayne Rooneys – they weren’t in the Champions League at 19.
“This kid, we’ll give him it and there’s no qualms about it, not a question because we know he’s ready.”
United hit by FA charge
Manchester United have been handed yet another FA charge for failing to control their players during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, less than a week after receiving a similar punishment against Newcastle.
Casemiro's 94th minute equaliser at Stamford Bridge rescued a point for the Red Devils, who fell behind after Scott McTominay conceded a penalty for hauling down Armando Broja in the box ten minutes earlier.
Upon conceding the spot-kick, Manchester United's players protested explosively, surrounding referee Stuart Atwell.
The FA released the following statement on Wednesday: "Manchester United FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 after its fixture versus Chelsea FC on Saturday 22 October 2022 in the Premier League.
"Manchester United allegedly failed to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the 84th minute, and the club has until Friday 28 October 2022 to provide a response."
Ronaldo part of Juventus investigation
Investigators have reportedly discovered secret documents signed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus, which show the club promising their former striker almost €20million (£17m) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a result, the Italian giants — who had announced hefty salary reductions during that period — are under investigation for falsifying accounts, according to reports.
Juventus revealed in March 2020 that their players were waiving four months of wages because of the pandemic, and investigators are now trying to prove that this was not case.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club are suspected of having falsified their balance sheets during 2019, 2020 and 2021.
In addition, 16 of the club's chiefs — including president Andrea Agnelli and vice president Pavel Nedved — are under investigation as confirmed by the Turin prosecutor.
Liverpool want Italian midfielder transfer
Liverpool have long been linked with the signing of AC Milan star Sandro Tonali this summer – and could now have a head start.
Liverpool may have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of the midfielder – thanks to AC Milan's reported interest in Reds star Naby Keita.
The Guinea international hasn't featured for Liverpool this term due to injury, and his contract expires next summer.
As per MilanLive, Milan are reportedly tracking the 'opportunity' to sign Keita, with his profile fitting what club chiefs are looking for.
That interest could potentially open up the chance for the Reds to either offer Keita to the Italian giants as part of a swap deal for Tonali.
Former Bayern star escapes robbery
Royal Antwerp boss Mark van Bommel has smashed up his £100,000 Porsche – while escaping a gun-toting carjacker.
The 45-year-old reportedly feared for his life when parking in the garage below his city apartment on Monday night.
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Van Bommel told police a man pointed a pistol at him and told him to get out of the car.
The panicked manager tried to reverse out of the garage, slamming into a parked Mercedes and setting off the cars' alarms.
The would-be robber fled amid the confusion.
Spurs eye potential Kane replacement
Tottenham reportedly like the look of Bari hitman Walid Cheddira and could sign him as a potential replacement for Harry Kane up front.
According to Sport Witness, who cite reports in Italy, Paratici is hoping to snare the ‘super’ forward from Bari next summer.
And while Kane could leave the club for big money – potentially as much as £88million – it would not take much to replace him with Cheddira.
Ronaldo in squad for Sheriff
Cristiano Ronaldo will be back in the Manchester United squad for their clash with Sheriff tomorrow night, Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
The Dutchman suspended Ronaldo after he stormed down the tunnel prior to the final whistle against Tottenham having refused to come on as a sub.
The 37-year-old was made to train by himself at Carrington and missed Saturday's 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
But after clearing the air with his manager Ronaldo will be involved again tomorrow.
Ten Hag, 52, said: "Cristiano will be in the squad tomorrow. Rapha Varane isn't. He will be out until the World Cup."
Pogba could face awkward return
Paul Pogba could be set for an awkward return to Old Trafford after Juventus' Champions League humiliation.
And that could also mean a reunion for Cristiano Ronaldo with his old side.
Juve were dumped out of the Champions League after five group games last night.
But should they avoid defeat in their final Group H game against Maccabi, they will finish third and be relegated into the Europa League.
Erik ten Hag's side are currently second in Group E behind Real Sociedad. Should they finish as runners-up, they could face Juve in a blockbuster preliminary knockout round tie.
Chelsea urged to sign Rice
Frank Leboeuf has urged Chelsea to splash £100million on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
He told Fair Betting Sites: "I think Chelsea need to strengthen central midfield and find a potential replacement for Kante.
"Kante is out for about four months and while Jorginho is a great player he is not defensively minded. Kovacic is a good player and he does his job well but he needs a partner.
“Declan Rice is the one for me. It would be very, very interesting if Kante leaves. I would love to see them {put down £100m} and get Rice from West Ham."
Messi breaks incredible Pele record
Lionel Messi has broken Pele's record for most goals and assists EVER.
The Argentine was in devastating form as Paris Saint-Germain smashed Maccabi Haifa 7-2 in the Champions League last night.
Messi, 35, grabbed two goals and two assists as his side sealed qualification to the round of 16.
In doing so, he reached a combined total of 1,127 goal involvements in his career.
This overtakes the great Pele, who OneFootball attribute 1,126 goal involvements to.
Vieira wants more managers of colour
Patrick Vieira has candidly insisted that there is a “lack of opportunity” for black managers and there needs to be more “opportunities [for] people of colour.”
According to the Black Footballers Partnership (BFP), 43 per cent of players in the Premier League are black.
Speaking to The Football News Show on BBC, Vieira said: "We have to give opportunities to people of colour. We are as good as anybody else. And we need to have no more or less opportunity than anybody else.
“When you are looking at the top five leagues in the world and you’re looking at the number of black coaches you have in the first or second division, it is not enough.
“There is a lack of opportunity there. There is a lack of connection from black players to connect ourselves a little bit more with people who are making the decisions.
“But overall I believe that the doors are not open for us to do what we can do and to go into management. When I talk about management I’m talking about the team, but I’m also talking about the higher level as well.
“We need to be given more opportunities to show that we are as good as anybody else.”
Rangnick targeted huge stars at United
Ralf Rangnick has revealed he pushed Manchester United to sign as many as six players during the January transfer window.
He said: “It was clear to everyone that there was a need in many areas.
“That’s why we were already discussing players like Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. Those were names that were realistic.
“We also talked about Alvaro Morata, Luis Diaz, Dusan Vlahovic and, as I said, [Erling] Haaland when they were still on the market."
Chelsea want Newcastle midfield dynamo
Chelsea are interested in signing Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes, according to Goal.
But Newcastle are plotting to offer him a huge new deal to convince him to stay at St. James' Park.
Bruno has impressed since arriving in the Premier League in January and would likely command an eye-watering fee.
Chelsea eye Monaco technical director
Chelsea are reportedly close to appointing Monaco technical director Laurence Stewart in a new specifically-tailored role.
Stewart is currently technical director at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, having been in the role since June 2021.
The Englishman had initially joined the French team a year prior as their head of recruitment and during his tenure, Aurelien Tchouameni was sold to Real Madrid for £80m.
Monaco have also had a keen eye on bringing in players from the Premier League as well, with both Takumi Minamino and Malang Sarr arriving from Liverpool and on loan from Chelsea respectively.
FA conclude Arsenal vs Liverpool investigation
Gabriel Magalhaes and Jordan Henderson have both been cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation by the Football Association into their spat earlier this month.
The FA have confirmed they will not be taking any disciplinary action following an investigation into the incident between Arsenal and Liverpool.
The FA received a complaint about an incident involving two players in this fixture. As a result of the complaint, The FA conducted a full and thorough investigation.
A statement read: "The investigation included taking witness statements from the complainant and accused, along with an additional six players who were within proximity of the alleged incident, reviewing multiple angles of video footage, and seeking independent linguistics experts evidence.
"None of the witnesses heard the alleged comment, and the player accused strenuously denied the allegation throughout.
"Whilst The FA is entirely satisfied that the allegation was made in good faith, it is equally satisfied that there is no case to answer."
Carragher tells Chelsea star to leave
Christian Pulisic should follow in Timo Werner’s footsteps by QUITTING Chelsea.
That’s according to Jamie Carragher, who reckons the American stands a better chance of becoming a top-level player at a “smaller” club.
Carragher told CBS: “100 per cent [Pulisic should consider a smaller club].
“A lot of footballers are different, I do scratch my head when I see certain players at clubs for a long time and they never really get into the team.
“And that’s why I think Thierry [Henry] is saying he respects Timo Werner. Rather than just sitting on the bench another year or two he’s gone back to somewhere where he’s going to play week in, week out."
Sporting desperate for Ronaldo return
Sporting Lisbon ‘dreams of the return’ of Cristiano Ronaldo, according to manager Ruben Amorim.
He said: “I don’t know. Ronaldo is a top player, a Manchester United player.
“Everyone in Sporting dreams of the return of Cristiano, so I don’t want to speak about that.
“He’s a Manchester United player, a top player, and he will be for a few months.
“I’ll answer the same way because a lot of journalists ask me the same question. He [Ronaldo] is a Manchester United player.
“Everybody in Sporting dreams of the return for Cristiano but we don’t have the money to pay his wages. I think he’s happy in Manchester but he’s not playing so that’s the problem."
Germans target Man City star
Bayern Munich are considering a move for Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan, according to 90min.
City are reportedly een to extend Gundogan’s deal, but Bayern will be an attractive proposition.
The 32-year-old hasn’t played in Germany for seven years but could be keen on joining the Bundesliga champions if he’s no longer a regular in England.
Bayern can agree a pre-contract deal in January too, so City are running out of time to tie him down.
Pep Guardiola explains Haaland substitution
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he had three concerns over Erling Haaland’s fitness, which is why the striker was taken off at half-time against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
He said: "Three things: I saw him so tired.
"The second one he had a bit of a fever, like Joao [Cancelo]. The third, he had a knock in his feet. That is why he wasn’t able to play in the second half."
Asked whether Haaland is likely to be sidelined, with Manchester City facing Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday, Guardiola could not confirm, but was reassured by how the forward was looking at the end of the match.
"I don’t know right now," added the Spaniard. "They were a little bit concerned at half-time but I saw him walking OK at the end."
West Brom appoint Bruce successor
Carlos Corberan has been appointed West Brom's new head coach.
The former Huddersfield boss, who will take his first training session on Wednesday, joins on a two-and-a-half-year deal to replace Steve Bruce, who was sacked earlier this month.
The Baggies are second bottom of the Sky Bet Championship after a dismal start to the season.
Petit makes top four prediction
Emmanuel Petit has tipped Newcastle to finish in the top four ahead of Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United.
He told Ladbroke: Fanzone: "Manchester City will obviously make the top four. Then behind them I think Arsenal and Liverpool will be there, which leaves four clubs, for me, battling for fourth spot.
"I don't think Tottenham will qualify for the Champions League; I think they're going to have a difficult season.
"I also think Chelsea have had too many troubles over the last six months or so for anyone to confidently back them to make the top four, they've had too many injuries to players and problems off the pitch, so I think they'll miss out.
"I'll throw a surprise in there and say Newcastle finish fourth. I can see their owners being active once again in the January transfer window, and they're not playing in a European competition which will be a massive benefit for them in the latter stages of the season.
"They're improving a lot, and they don't have many players involved in the World Cup. That's definitely going to make a massive difference, so I'll put them in fourth-place."
Referee set for Prem return
Bobby Madley will referee his first Premier League match in four-and-a-half years this weekend.
The 37-year-old, who was sacked by the Professional Game Match Official Limited [PGMOL] in August 2018 for gross misconduct on grounds of discrimination, will be in charge of Brentford's home clash with Wolves, according to the Prem's official website.
Madley later revealed he was axed by the PGMOL after filming a video appearing to mock a disabled person which was shared with his employer.
He relocated to Norway where he officiated in the lower leagues.
But Madley returned to referee in England in 2020 and he has officiated 13 games this season as a Select Group Two ref in the EFL Cup, Championship, League One and Two.
Chelsea want Brazilian wonderkid
Chelsea are plotting a move for Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, according to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola.
He also claims Endrick has a release clause of just £35million, though could be sold for less.
Paris Saint-Germain are another side reported to be very keen on Endrick and are preparing a £25m bid.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be monitoring Endrick's situation.
