  • October 1, 2022

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN sporting director Luis Campos had admitted that signing both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar was a 'mistake'.
The feud between the two PSG megastars has been brewing with Neymar walking out of an interview when asked about Mbappe during international duty.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are closing in on a sensational £53million deal for RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku, according to reports.
Reports suggest that Nkunku underwent a medical check in Frankfurt earlier this month.
And the French international is all set to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Aubameyang scores first Chelsea goal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who made his first Prem start as a Chelsea player today, has also scored his first goal for the club.
His effort cancelled out Edouard's early goal.
Conte reacts to Tottenham defeat
The Spurs boss told BT Sport:
"I think the first half was in the balance. We had many chances to score. We made a big mistake with the last pass because we had great space. In the second half we conceded a second goal early and we could do much better.
"With the the red card, [went] the game. It was a really difficult game after that. We had to change totally then. It was the referee’s decision and I don’t want to comment.
"We had the opportunity to exploit much better and stay up and I repeat that I think we made big mistakes in the last pass and with easy passes but it happens and straight after the national team it is a bit difficult because players arrive at a different time.
"Now we have to move on but we know our role in this league and we have to try and do our best to stay close to the other teams at the top. I tried to give minutes to players because the game had ended and also to try and save energy.
"I wanted to give players time especially [Oliver] Skipp and [Matt] Doherty because we need the whole squad because we have many games in front of us in a short period."
Arteta reacts to Arsenal win
When speaking to BBC Sport, the Arsenal boss said:
"The players grabbed the game and deserved to win it. It was the whole team – starting from the back to front. They really connected today.
"I hope this will give them more belief that they can win at this level in the way we want them to play.
"We have connected with our supporters and when that happens it is a really powerful thing.
"We have a really meaningful opportunity to give a lot of people happiness on a beautiful day and we have delivered that and it is a really great feeling.
"We are focussing on what we are doing. This is a sign that we are going in the right direction. We need to maintain that now and go for it.
"You feel the desire and humility – they haven't won anything yet and that is important to have that humility, which is a big driver for us."
Chalobah SENT OFF for Fulham
Nathaniel Chalobah has been sent off just EIGHT minutes into Fulham's clash with Newcastle at Craven Cottage.
The former Chelsea midfielder was handed his first Prem start of the season by boss Marco Silva.
But it swiftly took a disastrous turn.
With less than eight minutes on the clock, Chalobah launched himself into a challenge on Sean Longstaff.
The 27-year-old caught the Toon star high on the shin, but was only initially shown a yellow card.
Following a VAR check, however, the colour of the card was upgraded to a red.
And Callum Wilson made the ten-man Cottagers pay less than five minutes later, when he scrambled the ball home from close range.
Chelsea and Liverpool both trailing
Crystal Palace have gained an advantage over Chelsea thanks to a goal from Odsonne Edouard.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently losing 1-0 to Brighton courtesy of an early Leandro Trossard goal.
Fulham were dealt a blow just four minutes into their clash with Newcastle after Nathaniel Chalobah was SENT OFF for a challenge on Sean Longstaff.

Kane sets new Prem record
Harry Kane has become the first player to score 100 away goals in the Premier League.
He broke the record with a coolly-taken penalty against Tottenham's rivals Arsenal in the North London derby this afternoon.
The finish cancelled out Thomas Partey's fantastic strike in the opening 20 minutes of the game.
Guardiola confirms Stones injury
Pep Guardiola has confirmed John Stones will miss Sunday's mammoth Manchester derby.
The Manchester City defender hobbled off during England's thrilling 3-3 draw with Germany holding his hamstring.
Stones, 28, looked gutted as he trudged off, sparking fears the injury could prevent him from playing at the World Cup.
But Guardiola has eased those concerns, with Stones not expected to be ruled out of the tournament.
Although in a blow to City, the defender will definitely miss this weekend's game against Manchester United.
Guardiola said: "I think he will not be injured for five to six weeks but it will be less. Normally hamstring can be four to six weeks.
"I don't know when he will be back but maybe 10 days to two weeks hopefully."
Maguire ruled out of derby
Harry Maguire has been ruled out of the Manchester derby with a hamstring injury, manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
The Man Utd skipper, 29, has been out of favour in recent weeks, with Ten Hag opting to select the pair of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane instead.
The dropping of Maguire has coincided with an upturn in form for the Red Devils as they have gone on a four-match winning run in the Premier League.
And Ten Hag will once again be absolved of the dilemma whether to pick Maguire or not against rivals Man City as he is unavailable for selection.
Speechless
Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann received medical attention on the touchline after losing his voice during their clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
The German champions comfortably eased to a 4-0 win in the Bundesliga on Friday night.
But it was on the sideline where the most bizarre incident of the evening took place.
In the 35th minute of the match, Bayern manager Nagelsmann lost his voice.
And, according to Bild, the team doctor was forced to come off the bench and hand the manager some throat pills.
They appeared to have the desired impact as two minutes later Nagelsmann loudly celebrated Bayern's third goal of the game.

Kylian Mbappe reportedly wanted Paris Saint-Germain to sign Marcus Rashford in the summer.
The 24-year-old English forward was linked with a move away from the Red Devils ahead of the new season after a lengthy period of poor form.
And PSG were rumoured to be interested in acquiring Rashford despite his record of just five goals in 32 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign.
Now RMC Sport are reporting that the Old Trafford attacker was one of four players Mbappe called on PSG to sign – none of which were secured.
The French superstar, 23, penned a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions in the summer, bringing an end to speculation over a move to Real Madrid.
And Mbappe was quickly keen to have a say on transfers.
The report states Rashford was leading the way as a player he wanted to see PSG sign.
Mbappe is also thought to have wanted the club to agree deals for Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele and Gianluca Scamacca.

Man Utd want to sign Jude Bellingham AND Frenkie de Jong in the summer, according to reports.
The Red Devils are not planning a major overhaul of their squad in January, with Erik ten Hag set to wait until the end of the season.
But he will then look to bring in exciting talent – and ESPN understand De Jong and Bellingham are at the top of his wishlist.
Man Utd were linked with De Jong all summer, with Ten Hag keen to reunite with the Dutch international he brought through at Ajax.
But a deal never materialised and he ended up staying at Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Bellingham committed to Borussia Dortmund for one more season but is set to leave in the summer.

PSG chief admits signing duo was a 'mistake' amid feud
Paris Saint-Germain made a mistake in signing both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the club's sporting director Luis Campos has admitted.
The Ligue 1 champions signed Neymar for a world record fee of £200million back in 2017.
That same summer they agreed a loan deal for Mbappe to join from Monaco.
Then in 2018, PSG signed the French superstar on a permanent transfer worth up to £165m.
Both have enjoyed successful spells at the club, albeit without winning the Champions League.
And Campos has now conceded that it was an error to bring both players in.
Speaking to the Rothen s'enflamme podcast, he said: "We made the mistake in the past of recruiting two players in the same position.
"The transfer window is not good because we lack players in key positions and because we have an overlap of players in other positions."
The comments about the pair come after Neymar walked out of an interview earlier this week when asked about Mbappe.
Loc and Key
Juventus are ready to offload Manuel Locatelli in January with Arsenal already interested in signing him, Italian media say.
The midfielder snubbed a switch to the Emirates following Euro 2020 as he opted instead to link up with the Old Lady from Sassuolo.
Locatelli joined on an initial two-year loan, with the Serie A giants obligated to turn his temporary stay into a permanent transfer for £30million.
But Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri has since been left underwhelmed by Locatelli's arrival.
And this has led to speculation over whether Paul Pogba will replace him in the line-up once the Frenchman is fully fit.
With Locatelli struggling to live up to his billing in Turin, the club are now ready to sell him, according to Calciomercato.
And they name Mikel Arteta's Arsenal as potential buyers in the winter window.
The Spaniard is known to be in the market for a new midfielder having failed to bring in Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz on deadline day.
