“Let’s begin this bulletin with some football news,
Serie A football player Pablo Mari has been discharged from hospital after he was stabbed in an attack in an Italian supermarket last week
Mari faces at least two months out of the game after an operation on Friday, October 28 for stab wounds. The attack left one man dead and many injured. Milan’s Niguarda hospital said its trauma team had reconstructed two muscles in the back of the 29-year-old Spanish centre-back, who is on loan at Monza from Premier League club Arsenal. In a statement, Monza said, “Pablo Mari was discharged from the hospital this morning, returned home and now begins a period of absolute rest,” while also thanking the hospital and its staff.”
“In some bad news for fans of Spanish football,
Atletico Madrid said Alvaro Morata suffered a swollen ankle in Atletico’s 3-2 LaLiga defeat at Cadiz, leaving the Spain striker just three weeks to recover before the World Cup in Qatar.
Morata is Spain’s main striker and has scored 27 goals in 57 appearances for the 2010 world champions. Atletico said in a statement, “Alvaro Morata is suffering from soft tissue oedema in his ankle, according to medical tests he underwent on Sunday morning, October 30.””
Spain, who are in Group E at the World Cup with Germany, Costa Rica and Japan, have yet to announce their final squad for the tournament. They begin their group campaign on Nov. 23 against Costa Rica.

“Chelsea manager Graham Potter said he had nothing to apologize to Brighton & Hove Albion fans for after he was booed by some supporters as his new side was thrashed 4-1 by his former club on the Blues boss’s return to the south coast.
Potter was greeted by some jeers as he took to the pitch for their Premier League game at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, October 29, despite exceeding expectations during three years as Brighton manager before leaving to take the Chelsea job last month. The home fans relished new coach Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side putting Chelsea to the sword, singing “You’re getting sacked in the morning” and “Potter, what’s the score” in the direction of their former manager.”
“In some tennis news,
World number one Iga Swiatek said she was left feeling confused after Simona Halep was handed a provisional ban for doping and hoped there would be more clarity soon on the future of the Romanian player she has looked up to.
Halep was provisionally suspended by the International Tennis Integrity Agency this month after she tested positive for the banned substance roxadustat.
Swiatek said in a conference in Texas, “Well, for sure it was confusing to me because I wouldn’t expect to hear this news. Simona, from my point of view, seems like a person who always cared about being fair and she was a great example for me,”
Halep has denied knowingly taking any banned substance. “
“Meanwhile, in some news from the T20 World Cup,
Babar Azam’s men are finally off the mark in this world cup after two back-to-back close defeats against India and Zimbabwe. This was a comprehensive performance by The Men in Green against the Netherlands. Fast bowlers along with Shadab Khan did the job of restricting the Dutch to 91 runs in their quota. The batters then chased down the total in 14 overs. They had a few hiccups in their chase nevertheless, got their two points.
Pakistan have two more games to play in their T20 World Cup campaign, with their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals hanging by a thread, and dependent on results elsewhere going their way. “
“In other news, Wasim Akram lost his temper after a fan asked about Mohammed Rizwan’s using cream on his lips in the T20 World Cup.
Akram, who is one of the guests alongside Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik, lost his temper and said he couldn’t answer such a ridiculous question.
In the talk show called Ask The Pavillion, one of the fans asked Akram:” Why Rizwan keeps wearing the lip balm when not even a single player from any other country is wearing it?”
Losing his temper, the legendary swing bowler said, “This is just a random question. It is not even about cricket, don’t you guys have better nice to do? I can’t answer this””
“Lastly,
Conditions in Perth were very difficult for batting but India captain Rohit Sharma said that cannot be an excuse for the team’s five-wicket loss to South Africa in the T20 World Cup.
South Africa exposed India’s inadequacies against extreme pace and bounce to win a low-scoring thriller. Chasing 134, South Africa completed the chase in 19.4 overs with Aiden Markram and David Miller making 52 and 59 runs respectively, the latter remaining not out.
Rohit said, “The pitch is such that the wicket can come any time for the seamers. It was a match-winning partnership between Miller and Markram. But we were not good enough on the field. We have played in such conditions so conditions are not an excuse.”””
