Bryce Young injury update: What Nick Saban said about Alabama football quarterback after Arkansas – Tuscaloosa Magazine

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ― Bryce Young has an AC sprain in his shoulder, Nick Saban said Saturday.
Young suffered the injury in the second quarter against Arkansas. No. 2 Alabama football (5-0, 2-0 SEC) won 49-26 over No. 19 Arkansas (3-2, 1-2) at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Saban said he doesn’t think it’s a serious injury.
“We’ll have to take it day-to-day,” Saban said. “I think he’s OK.”
The Alabama coaching staff didn’t think Young could go back in the game today, Saban said. He went to the medical tent in the second quarter, slamming his helmet on the ground beforehand. He was being looked at by the training staff for about 12 minutes before he jogged out of the tent and went to the locker room.

Young returned to the second half in full uniform, but he didn’t play again in the game.
“I don’t think he had much steam on throwing the ball,” Saban said. “He’s had these before. In a few days, he starts to respond pretty well. We’ll just have to see how it goes.”
Before Young left, he completed 7-of-13 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown in fewer than two quarters of work.
Alabama had a 14-0 lead when Young had to leave the game. Jalen Milroe came in to replace Young and had some success, but mainly with his legs. Milroe went 4-for-9 for 65 yards with one touchdown in the passing game, but he ran for 91 yards on six carries and a rushing touchdown.
Milroe’s 77-yard run in the second half woke the offense up and set Jase McClellan up to score a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
“There are things that Jalen does well,” Saban said. “We practice some of those things. If he has to play, we’ll practice them more. I thought he did a good job of managing the game today and gave our team a chance to win.”
