Auburn Football: College Football News week nine outlook for Auburn – Auburn Wire

  • October 26, 2022

After a refreshing, relaxing week off, the Auburn Tigers are back in action on Saturday morning at home against Arkansas.
Auburn has been in a rough patch lately, dropping their last three games and barely skating by Missouri just before the stretch. It is an easy thing to say that the bye week came at a great time, but for Auburn, that statement could not be more true.
Looking ahead to Auburn’s remaining schedule, the Tigers will face four unranked teams who are also going through trying times as well. Maybe it will be seen as a good thing for Auburn to face teams at their most vulnerable state.
The Tigers still need to take their season one game at a time, though. Ahead of Auburn’s game with Arkansas, College Football News has released their recent SEC rankings, overall rankings, and bowl projections.

Missouri and Vanderbilt squared off in a battle of bottom-dwellers on Saturday. With Missouri earning the win over the Commodores, the Tigers stay put at No. 13.
The biggest movers this week were Mississippi State, who dropped three spots to No. 9 after falling at Alabama, which gave them their second loss in a row. On the other end of the spectrum, LSU climbed three spots to No. 4 after upsetting Ole Miss, while South Carolina rose from No. 11 to No. 7 after earning a big win over Texas A&M.

Due to recent struggles, College Football News has left Auburn out of its’ latest Bowl Projections.
Auburn does have plenty of time to earn a bowl trip, however. After week eight’s results, Auburn will only face one more ranked team to close out the season, which turns into a great opportunity to gain three more wins to earn bowl eligibility.
The Gasparilla Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, and Music City Bowl are viable options for the Tigers should they earn a bid for a bowl game.
