College Football Pick’em
Start or Sit (NFC Home Games)
Talking the business of sports
This Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats are hoping to patch up the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 36.29 points per game. They will take on the USC Trojans at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Arizona Stadium after a week off. The Wildcats are out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
Arizona came up short against the Washington Huskies two weeks ago, falling 49-39. QB Jayden de Laura put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for four TDs and 400 yards on 34 attempts in addition to picking up 41 yards on the ground.
Meanwhile, it’s always hard to lose, and it’s even harder to lose by a single point. Just ask USC, the unfortunate recipient of a 43-42 loss at the hands of the Utah Utes two weeks ago. The Trojans might have lost, but man — QB Caleb Williams was a total machine. He passed for five TDs and 381 yards on 42 attempts in addition to picking up 57 yards on the ground. Williams’ longest run was for 55 yards in the first quarter.
The Wildcats have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 15.5-point spread they are up against. Those who got lucky with them against the spread two weeks ago might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses two weeks ago. With a combined 1,082 yards of offense in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced contest.
#TrojanFamily, what’s your pick for the @FlyONT Play of the Game from USC’s win over Arizona?
– Final touchdown allows #Arizona to cover the 15.5 spread.
– Dorian Singer scored that TD, plus two more: 7 recs, 141 yds, 3 TD.
– Max Williams led #USC with 9 tackles. Bryson Shaw, Calen Bullock with 7 tkls each.
– Shaw had his first INT with the Trojans. pic.twitter.com/CrIYl7QGhk
The final stat line for #USC Quarterback Caleb Williams:
31/45, 411 yards, 5 TD’s

#USC wins 45-37 over Arizona on the road without its best OL, it’s top linebacker and top two wide receivers. And lost it’s starting LT in the second half. Plus one of the worst officiating calls you’ll ever see.
Hunter Echols making the final tackle of this game feels poetic #USC
Manu knifes into the backfield and stops Dye short. What will Riley do here? It’s fourth-and-inches at the 37, 1:12 left.
As good as the #USC defense played against Oregon State is as bad as they’ve played against Arizona. The paint on film room walls is not safe.
TD for the Cats!

Bryson Shaw with another big play for this #USC D. I expect to see more of him for the remainder of the season.
Jacobe Covington and Calen Bullock didn’t call for the ball on the fly ball.
Center fielder takes everything he can get.

And he’s over the top for the TD. https://t.co/8NohzCvbXp
No makeup calls. Just really, really terrible refs. https://t.co/M51FAW5z2d
#USC had already missed a couple of field goals. #Pac12Refs give Trojans first and goal instead of 4th and 8 and SC gets 6.
It’s just potential game changing calls like that keep happening in the conference.

Another terrible #Pac12Refs call.
