Today is the start of the international break as international teams prepare for their last round of fixtures before the World Cup.
Several members of Manchester United's first team squad will be in action over the next week. However, one of the most surprising United call-ups is their captain Harry Maguire.
Maguire has found game time difficult to come by since being part of the 4-0 hammering away at Brentford earlier in the campaign. However, Gareth Southgate has opted to choose the central defender.
United's captain will be hoping to make a good impression during his week away from Carrington. Elsewhere, one man who has done his chances of joining the Reds no harm is PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.
Gakpo has already scored ten goals in 13 appearances in all competitions and PSV director Marcel Brands has already confirmed that United approached them for the Dutchman's services in the summer.

Harry Maguire has been on the outs in recent weeks but now has an opportunity to prove he should still be in Erik ten Hag's plans.

One of the key reasons Manchester United appointed Erik ten Hag this summer was his commitment to giving young players a chance. There is no club in world football with a prestigious history of youth development that comes close to United's and the new manager hasn't taken long to acknowledge that himself.
With no first-team men's match at the weekend, Ten Hag and his assistant Mitchell van der Gaag joined technical director Darren Fletcher and Andy O’Boyle, the club’s deputy director of football, to watch the U21s face West Ham in the Premier League 2.
It was a surprise visit that U21s manager Mark Dempsey had not even been informed of and evidence of the way Ten Hag likes to operate by throwing players into situations at the deep end, to truly gauge their character.

David de Gea
Let some soft goals in against Brighton and Brentford where he looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet but has recovered respectably with three clean sheets. Made some good saves against Liverpool and Leicester. 6
Diogo Dalot
Only one of two outfield players who have started all eight games and he has improved in defence and attack, helping United keep three clean sheets and assisting Bruno Fernandes at Southampton. 8
Raphael Varane
United's most important player. They have conceded two goals in 495 minutes with Varane on the pitch, won all five games he has started and lost the three he hasn't started. 9

United are considering a move for Antoine Griezmann in January, according to The Athletic.
The 31-year-old is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid from Barcelona. United enquired about the French striker over the summer and it's said they are now considering reigniting their interest in the player.
Griezmann has scored 144 goals in 300 appearances for Atletico in all competitions.
Manchester United are among the most photographed clubs in the world, never mind the Premier League, and yet the vast majority of the pictures of Donny van de Beek on Getty Images this season are images of him taking part in pre-match warm-ups.
Van de Beek has often been anonymous when he's played for the club and he's now becoming anonymous away from the pitch. The new campaign started six weeks ago and Van de Beek has played just 19 minutes across that period. Van de Beek thought his move to Old Trafford was a dream in the summer of 2020 but it has clearly turned into a relentless nightmare, which he can't escape.
United signed Van de Beek for £35million two years ago and that seemed like remarkable value. Van de Beek has hardly played during his time at United and that transfer fee now seems like a waste instead. Old Trafford has become a graveyard for new signings over the last decade and Van de Beek's name deserves to be added to the club's extensive catalogue of recruitment mistakes.

Nathan Bishop has explained that Erik ten Hag wants his goalkeepers to be more proactive in matches.
"Do you know what, Erik [Ten Hag] has come in and he has brought a philosophy [proactive]," Bishop told the Manchester Evening News. "When you see the way David is playing now, running out and getting onto the ball, it’s coming down from the first team.
"I’m learning from the best goalkeepers in the world, so to have that in front of me and to learn from that is the most important thing. It’s unreal, training with some of the best players, the best defenders, the best goalkeepers and we’ve got top coaches.
"As much as you learn in training, it’s always nice to put it into practice in games and having players around you in the U21s that are having the same practice as well."
Midfielder Zidane Iqbal has been left out of the Iraq squad for the upcoming Jordan International Tournament because he wants to focus on matters at United.
The youngster, who made a real name for himself during the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia during July, is a notable absentee from the Iraq squad, after they recently announced their 31-man squad for the aforementioned tournament. Iqbal, despite having only made two senior caps for his country, is one of their most exciting prospects.
However, it has been confirmed that he has been left out of the squad for the Jordan International Tournament later this month as he wants to focus on his personal development at Old Trafford. The 19-year-old has been included on the Reds' Europa League B list this season, meaning an opportunity for him to play first-team football could present itself at some point this season.
