Here’s a list of game predictions from NFL analysts.
Gregg Rosenthal | NFL.com
The Titans have scored 76 points in their last two games against the Bills, with both of those Tennessee wins coming pretty early in the season. While the Titans’ offensive firepower is diminished, there were more positive signs last week than their final score against the Giants indicated. But this is the Josh Allen fireshow until proven otherwise — I just cannot pick against the guy in any fashion until he looks mortal again for a game. The Bills’ depth of pass rushers should eventually wear out Ryan Tannehill.
Prediction: Bills 35, Titans 24
Sheil Kapadia | The Ringer
The Bills have the look of a potential juggernaut. There’s no other way to say it. In their last three games, including last season’s playoffs, the Bills have had 25 offensive possessions. They’ve scored touchdowns on 16 of them and punted just four times. Buffalo’s defensive approach against the Rams was brilliant. …
… The Titans blew a 13-0 halftime lead against the Giants, and Randy Bullock missed a 47-yard field goal as time expired. I don’t see the Titans as a playoff team, but there are a couple of coaches I generally ride with in the underdog role, and Mike Vrabel is one of them. Tennessee finds a way to make this game ugly and keep it competitive.
Prediction: Titans (+9.5)
Bleacher Report
What’s hotter than the Buffalo Bills? Fish grease? Scorched grits?
Coming off a dominant 31-10 win over the reigning champion Los Angeles Rams, the Bills head home to host the Tennessee Titans, who lost 21-20 to the New York Giants in Week 1 after kicker Randy Bullock missed a 47-yard field goal with four seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The Bills’ eye-opening victory over the Rams coupled with the Titans’ shocking loss to the Giants illustrates two playoff squads from the previous season headed in opposite directions. …
“The Bills looked good against the defending champs in Week 1, while the Titans are coming off a tough loss to the Giants. Ryan Tannehill is still the signal-caller in Tennessee, and that’s reason enough to lean toward Buffalo with the spread. I’m not sure the Titans will be able to keep up and score with the Bills offense. Give me the favorites here -10.”
Prediction: Bills 38, Titans 22
Pete Prisco | CBS Sports
The Titans are coming off a brutal loss to the Giants where they blew a big lead. Now they head north to play a Bills team that will have been rested for 11 days. That matters. Buffalo has had problems with the Titans in recent years, but that won’t be the case here. Josh Allen continues to roll up big numbers.
Prediction: Bills 33, Titans 19
David Hill | New York Times
The Bills (1-0) looked like a Super Bowl contender in their 31-10 drubbing of the reigning champions last week. Everyone knew the Bills had a powerful offense, but they showed off an improved defense, with the newcomer Von Miller getting two of the team’s seven sacks. The Titans lost a heartbreaker to the Giants after looking solid for three quarters. They should put up a better defensive effort against the Bills than the Rams did. It won’t be enough to win, but it might be enough to keep it interesting.
Pick: Titans +10
Michael David Smith & Mike Florio | Pro Football Talk
MDS’s take: The Titans aren’t as bad as they looked in Week One and the Bills aren’t as unstoppable as they looked in Week One. The Bills will win, but closer than people think.
MDS’s pick: Bills 28, Titans 24.
Florio’s take: The Buffalo Bills are the Blues Brothers. They’re on a mission from God.
Florio’s pick: Bills 38, Titans 24.
Bill Bender | Sporting News
We picked against Buffalo last week, and judging by how they looked we might not do that the rest of the season. The Titans have won the last two meetings, but those were home games. The Bills did lose three home games last season, but this won’t be one of them. Tennessee will be off to a shocking 0-2 start.
Prediction: Bills 31, Titans 23
