Kevin Campbell has suggested Arsenal will U-turn on sending Marquinhos out on loan in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners striker said the 19-year-old has “far exceeded expectations” and could remain a part of Mikel Arteta’s side for the entire season.
As shown on BT Sport (8 September), Marquinhos impressed on his debut for Arsenal against FC Zurich.

The winger contributed a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over the Swiss side in the Europa League.
According to The Sun‘s Mark Irwin (11 September), the Gunners would look to loan out the teenager if they sign another winger in January.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Marquinhos’ immediate future, Campbell said: “Mikel Arteta is going to see how it goes, if I’m honest with you.

“It was in his head that he was going to play six months in the under-23s and then go out on loan.
“He has far exceeded expectations already though. Let’s be honest, if he performs like he did against FC Zurich regularly he is going nowhere. I can tell you that much.
“Mikel Arteta will need him to play in the cup games and be a deputy for [Bukayo] Saka. We’ve seen that he can come on and be that spark of lightning. He can bring in electricity to the game.
“We have to see how it goes over the next few months. There will be more opportunities for Marquinhos but if it doesn’t quite work out and he doesn’t get enough football a loan move might make sense.
