Cristiano Ronaldo to Sporting Lisbon is not currently a possibility, per CBS Sports.
Sporting boss Ruben Amorim is said to be opposed to signing the Manchester United striker, who wants to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues – England, Germany, France, Spain, Italy.
Despite the hype around Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Sporting, my understanding still remains there is nothing close and a series of U-turns would need to occur to change that. “Once we had a chat on where I see him and where he’s at, and reinforce the position to him, the importance of that, and that this can be a great year for him, having adapted last year, he was keen to stay and fight for his place.”

Chelsea are set to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester and also want to bring in Anthony Gordon from Everton this summer.
But though a deal is thought to be near for Fofana, and the Blues are said to be ready to pay £60million for Gordon, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers and Everton manager Frank Lampard have refused to discuss the futures of the two.
Lampard said of Gordon, who scored in a 1-1 draw at Brentford: “A player at his level should react positively and I thought he did that. It’s [A £60m bid has] not happened. Nothing has changed.”
While Rodgers said of Fofana after a 2-1 loss at Chelsea: “There’s nothing new to add to it – it’s as simple as that.”
Memphis Depay’s next club is still no clearer, per Fabrizio Romano.
The Barcelona attacker is on Manchester United’s radar but an Old Trafford return is not on the cards just yet.
