Ange Postecoglou has revealed Carl Starfelt and James McCarthy will miss tomorrow's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Hoops have travelled to the Polish capital of Warsaw where they will aim to pick up their first three points of the group stage campaign, having lost their opening game 3-0 to Real Madrid at Parkhead last week. Shakhtar themselves, playing in Poland rather than Ukraine due to Russia's invasion of their homeland, come into this game on the back of a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig last week.
Postecoglou and his players will know just how tough a challenge they will face but Celtic fans can feel relieved knowing that the vast majority of the squad are available for selection. That means Kyogo Furuhashi will compete with Giorgos Giakoumakis for a place up front in the manager's starting line-up, while Moritz Jenz will likely start in place of the injured Starfelt.
Speaking about the only injuries in the squad and the challenge of Shakhtar at his press conference this evening, Postecoglou said: "Starfelt misses out and McCarthy wasn't well today so he didn't train today. Everyone else is okay.
"In terms of the game, every Champions League game is going to be tough. Every opposition will give us a challenge, and whatever it is out there tomorrow, we need to be ready to face it.
"However the game unfolds, we need to be ready to face it.
"Our confidence is the same as it was last week. We're only seven days on. We'll go out there tomorrow, try and play our football, and win at a level that we know is always going to be challenging."
