The summer transfer window is now into its final week and Express Sport is here to keep you update as proceedings gather pace. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal still have plenty of business to conduct with further squad improvements off the cards between September 2 and January.
United are still scrambling to find new attacking options and their search could be made more urgent if Cristiano Ronaldo finds himself a new club. Alongside the usual suspects of Antony and Cody Gakpo has emerged the La Liga duo of Memphis Depay and Marco Asensio, who could be available for cut-price fees.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are still pushing to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester despite strong resistance from Brendan Rodgers. The player is due to be left out of the Foxes’ matchday squad again this weekend unless a resolution can be found.
In north London, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has just waved goodbye to another player which could give him the green light to restart his summer transfer spree.

“We will do something, but it has to be the right one.”
Wolves manager Bruno Lage has admitted ‘everything can happen’ when asked about Pedro Neto’s future at the club.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that the club are actively working on signing a midfielder before the September 1 transfer deadline.
But the German has insisted it must be the right player under the right circumstances if the Reds are to move for reinforcements.
He told reporters: “You can imagine, we are actually working constantly on these kind of things but there are reasons why sometimes they don’t happen. Sometimes it is too expensive, sometimes it’s not the right player.
“Then, the situation changes, but one thing that stays really important is that it needs to be the right player.
“Some players are just unavailable, that’s how it is, but if we can do something, and if we will do something, then we are 100 per cent convinced about it. If we are not convinced, then we will not do it. That’s the situation.”

The clubs have held a series of talks over the past few days and the Hammers finally appear to have broken through after seeing their first two bids rejected.

Final details on the fee are yet to emerge but Lyon supposedly want around £50million.
Everton boss Frank Lampard has shed more light on Anthony Gordon’s situation with Chelsea reportedly weighing up a massive offer.
“They have not bid £60m – also, new proposal hasn’t come in,” he said. “He remains our player. He’s in the squad for tomorrow. He’s a huge player for us, not only a big value but more importantly to the squad. He’s an Everton boy.”
Lampard previously stated that he wanted Gordon’s future to be resolved quickly. The Toffees’ attacking shortage will be helped by the arrival of Neal Maupay, who is believed to be undergoing a medical today. Frank LampardArsenal outcast Hector Bellerin continues to face complications as he bids to force an exit from north London.

Dubravka lost the No 1 spot at St James’ Park this season after Nick Pope’s arrival from Burnley.
Manchester United target Marco Asensio is keen to stay at Real Madrid for at least another season, according to Mundo Deportivo
The attacking midfielder has often found himself on the fringes at the Bernabeu but, after a strong season last time out, Carlo Ancelotti is thought to be counting on him for the campaign ahead.
United are reportedly weighing up a bid in excess of £25million but it could go nowehere if Asensio confirms that a move to Old Trafford isn’t for him.

Tottenham outcast Sergio Reguilon is at the centre of a three-way transfer tussle involving Fulham, Lazio and Atletico Madrid, according to The Daily Mail
The Spaniard, who signed from Real Madrid back in 2020, has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte and is thought to be deemed expendable by the Lilywhites.
Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic are already battling for minutes at left wing-back which leaves Reguilon’s prospects of regular game time in tatters.
With three clubs battling it out, it seems increasingly likely that the 25-year-old will find a new home before next week’s transfer deadline.

Chelsea’s swoop for Leicester star Wesley Fofana could trigger a domino effect of transfer activity.
Di Marzio claim that Trevoh Chalobah will be deemed surplus to requirements, at least temporarily, if the Blues land their top defensive target. AC Milan are keen to bring him to the San Siro but the move supposedly hinges on Fofana’s future.

Manchester United are willing to offer £8.4million for Barcelona outcast Memphis Depay, according to reports in Spain.
Erik ten Hag’s countryman has history with the Red Devils as his first unsuccessful stint came to an end in 2017.
But since going on to learn his craft in Lyon and Catalonia he has become a more rounded attacker that fits the profile United need.
Depay was on the verge of joining Juventus until wage demands saw the deal collapse this week.
United are now thought to be tailing four attackers with Depay joining Marco Asensio, Cody Gakpo and Antony on their wish list.
