No. 25 Houston will try to build on its triple-overtime win over UTSA when it travels to Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon during the Week 2 college football schedule. The Cougars trailed by two touchdowns in the third quarter against the Roadrunners before using a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to send the game to overtime. Texas Tech had a different experience last week, blowing out Murray State in a 63-10 final. Should you back the rested Red Raiders with your Week 2 college football bets?
Texas Tech is a 4-point favorite in the latest Week 2 college football odds at Caesars Sportsbook. Some of the other Week 2 college football spreads include No. 12 Florida (-6) vs. No. 20 Kentucky and No. 10 USC (-8.5) at Stanford. Before locking in any college football bets on those games or others, be sure to see the top Week 2 college football expert picks, predictions and best bets from Barrett Sallee.

One of Sallee’s top college football picks for Week 2: He’s going Under 64.5 in the matchup between No. 17 Pittsburgh and No. 24 Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. ET in Pittsburgh. Tennessee’s offense got going in its 59-10 win over Ball State in its season opener, but the Vols are going to have a tougher time against the Panthers defense. Pittsburgh has a strong defensive line that is going to challenge Tennessee’s lack of depth up front.
The Panthers will be looking to control the tempo with their rushing attack, particularly against Tennessee’s fast-paced offense. Pittsburgh quarterback Kedon Slovis only attempted 24 passes in a 38-31 win over West Virginia last week, while the ground game combined for 38 carries. The Panthers have gone under the total in four of its last six games dating back to last season.
“The Panthers will do all that they can to pound the rock on the ground to wear down a questionable Volunteers defense and, at the very least, keep Tennessee’s offense on the sideline,” Sallee told SportsLine. See who else Sallee likes at SportsLine.
Sallee has also found two other college football picks he’s high on, including another total he says is inflated by several points. You can only see his picks at SportsLine.
