We are reaching the business end of the summer transfer window and there are likely to still be plenty of deals taking place before we reach deadline day on August 31. Manchester United are still the club everybody is talking about, and there was finally some good news for Red Devils fans on Friday as the club confirmed the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
The experienced Brazilian will bring some much-needed winning mentality to the dressing room at Old Trafford. But manager Erik ten Hag is not going to be happy to stop there, with rumours suggesting that the Dutchman wants at least three more signings in the coming weeks.
Elsewhere, another team that have had a busy time of it so far is Chelsea. The Blues have already brought in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella. And they are now being linked with a stunning move for United centre-back Harry Maguire following the England star’s miserable start to the campaign. Could we see developments in that one today?
And with other big clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle all expected to continue splashing the cash until the very end, anything could happen in the next 11 days.

Manchester United target Antony is set to be uninvolved in Ajax’s Eredivisie clash with Rotterdam tomorrow according to Fabrizio Romano
The Brazilian has missed training in the last two days as he seeks to try and force a move away from the Dutch champions.
The Red Devils have had two bids rejected for his services with Ten Hag hopeful of being reunited with his former star.
Hakim Ziyech could be set to return to Ajax according to reports. The Chelsea star has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge having made just 14 starts last season.
The move would come as a blow to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag who is said to be interested in a move for the Moroccan, who he previously coached in Amsterdam. AC Milan are also believed to be interested in the player.
Ziyech joined Chelsea in a £34million deal in 2020.

Manchester United have no intention of selling Harry Maguire despite interest from Chelsea.

Watford could also lose another one of their attacking talents in Joao Pedro with Newcastle continuing to push for his signature. The Hornets are believed to want a £30m fee for the Brazilian’s services.
Barcelona have demanded that Chelsea respect the club’s prior agreement for Marcos Alonso rather than try and include him in the deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Catalan giants believe the Blues are trying to inflate the original fee for the Spanish defender in their attempt to sign the striker.
Chelsea have offered Alonso plus £16million for the Gabon captain however the Blaugrana would prefer to see the two deals done separately and hope to receive £25m for the striker.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has landed in Manchester to undergo a medical ahead of his £70m transfer to Manchester United, according to AS.
The 30-year-old Brazilian is set to put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year.

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a hectic summer transfer window in terms of incomings, but there is still room for departures.
And Calciomercato report Lazio are interested in signing Antonio Conte outcast Sergio Reguilon before the deadline.
Lazio have joined Serie A rivals Atalanta in eyeing a move for the Spanish left-back, who is now third in Conte’s pecking order behind Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon.
Manchester United have agreed to loan Eric Bailly to Marseille for the 2022/23 season.
RMC Sport report Marseille have an option to buy the Ivorian centre-back at the end of his stint and are in talks with his representatives to finalise the details of his contract.
Bailly’s exit will spell the end of a six-year spell at Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho made him his first signing as manager in 2016.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has seemingly confirmed Manchester United target Sergino Dest will be allowed to leave this summer.
Dest had reportedly been told by Xavi that he didn’t feature in his plans. And while the Barca boss has regularly denied that he wants Frenkie de Jong to leave, he showed different energy regarding Dest.
When asked about the right-back situation at the Nou Camp, Xavi said: “We wanted to sign Azpilicueta, and it couldn’t be. We’ll have to see what we do. Sergino Dest? He knows about the situation.”
Erik ten Hag wants to sign a right-back this summer, and Dest is emerging as an increasingly likely option.
West Ham United are interested in signing Southampton centre-back Jan Bednarek this summer.

Southampton are said to be likely to sell him if the price is right.Southampton defender Jan Bednarek.Casemiro has broken his silence after Manchester United agreed a £70m deal to sign him from Real Madrid on Friday.

Antony has admitted he can’t promise he will be at Ajax beyond the summer transfer window amid rife transfer links to Manchester United.
The Red Devils saw a £67.5m offer rejected on Wednesday, and Antony skipped training in the aftermath as he pushes to reunite with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
And in a recently-published interview with Telegraaf, before the bid went in, the Brazilian winger was coy on his future when asked.
He said: “No, to be perfectly honest, I can’t [promise I’ll stay at Ajax].”
Arsenal are set to offload more deadwood by sending Nicolas Pepe to Nice on a season-long loan.
Football.london report the £72m flop is set for a return to France after his agent, Louis Ferrer, was spotted at Nice’s stadium on Friday.
Pepe’s exit could help Mikel Arteta bolster his attacking ranks further amid links to PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo and Wolves’ Pedro Neto.
Tottenham Hotspur have joined AS Roma and Inter Milan in the race to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah this summer.
According to the Evening Standard, Chalobah has concerns over his game time under Thomas Tuchel and could look for a permanent or loan exit.
However, he is under contract until 2026 and Chelsea are currently blocking his departure in fear they will be left short at the back.
But that could change if Tuchel recruits his third defender of the summer in the final two weeks of the window.
Chelsea could, in fact, end up with Jules Kounde, who they’ve seemingly missed out on twice over the last two summer transfer windows.
The Blues were priced out of a move last summer before agreeing a £55m deal this time around before Barcelona swooped in for his services
However, according to Cadena SER, Kounde will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp on a free transfer if Barcelona fail to register him before the end of the transfer window.
And it could open the door for Chelsea to complete an absolute coup if they’re still looking for a centre-back after the deadline.Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.Manchester United failed with a £67.5m offer for Antony earlier this week, which many believed would spell the end of their pursuit.
But after receiving encouragement of the Ajax winger’s desire to move to Old Trafford, they could be preparing a bid the Dutch champions can’t refuse.
According to Foot Mercato, United are preparing to return to the negotiation table for Antony with a mind-boggling £84m approach.
The Brazilian was at Ajax’s training ground on Friday but trained away from the team and may be taken out of the starting line-up on Sunday amid his interest in joining United.
And such a bid, making him the second most expensive player in the Red Devils’ history, could push through a move.
